How's everyone doing? Can you believe we are just a little over 2 weeks to a whole new year!?! How are the goals going?

    I'm pretty proud of my yesterday!

    15th: 5.15 miles = 55.97 miles, 4/10; 64.03/6 to go.

    Included in that is a trip to the gym and some time on the treadmill. We are somewhat sticking with our walking plan...at least the gym/timed portion of it (Tues and Thurs). The boyfriend and I are pretty competitive, getting to the proud moment. He cranked his treadmill up to a 6.0 and ran for about 15 seconds. LOL...hey, neither of us has RUN any significant amount of time or distance (if you consider the last .1 of a 5K to be significant) since April. Not to be outdone, I pushed mine up to a 5.5 (yes, slower, but I'll be danged if he's going to last longer in a jog than me!) and kept it for 90 seconds. :) My pulse was a little higher than I would have liked at the end, but my recovery was quick (from a 179 back to around 150 within about 30 seconds, probably to ideal within 15 - my ideal is in the 165 - 170 range) and I wasn't completely winded like I would have expected. I feel like I could have done more and will probably push to do some more intervals on our next gym days!! We were at the end and ready for cool down when we decided to be competitive. :)

    We have rain on the forecast and I need to keep up my steps / beat my Fitbit friend who is going on a road trip! I guess I need to hit that treadmill as well!!!

    Boo for rain. We did an after dinner walk around the neighborhood last night and it was spitting a little. Just made one lap bc it was getting harder and a little chilly. It's supposed to be out of our area pretty soon though...was wet this morning, but no rain.

    wow ... I am a bit behind here ... the Annual Family Christmas Tree Hunt and wiener roast and then full blown party time after that... three very late nights!! 29 people and 5 little kids... and the perfect topper to it all.. Santa came and checked in on the little kids to make sure they are being good!!!

    Goal for December - 120 miles & 10 over 10,000 steps

    Total - Week 1 = 23 miles & 2 over 10,000.
    Total - Week 2 = 24.9 miles & 2 over 10,000 steps

    Total of 47.9 miles & 4 over 10,000 steps.

    Dec 15 - 1.8 miles .....back at work and glued to my desk
    Dec 16 - 3.2 miles - ha ha ... made two trips to the stationary store - and dammmmm fell on the icy sidewalk. Nasty!!

    I am off for 4 days ... so hopefully I catch up on some miles. I have my Dear Hubby's cold now ...oh just lovely!!!

    I don't know if I will be walking outside though - I haven't checked the temperature yet and it was snowing when I went to bed. The temps today are only supposed to be a high of -10 Celsius. It is still dark out and will be for a couple of hours yet and the wind is up because the smoke on the outdoor wood stove is blowing straight sideways....my miles might be downstairs with Leslie Sansone video :):)

    Had another good day at the gym yesterday with a little more running. I was a little on the dehydrated side and got really crampy legs, so it didn't feel as good as Tuesday, but there was still running!!

    17th - 5.04 = 64.15 miles, 5/10 at 5+

    Today's # is probably going to be low. I was up until after 10 last night being force-fed the 6th Star Wars movie in preparation for seeing the new moving tonight (dumbest Christmas present I ever bought). Apparently you can't go to the 7th without first seeing the other 6 (I fell asleep during 5 of them...LOL) and giving 2 tickets to the bf apparently meant that I have to use the 2nd - even though I told him to take his best friend, dad, brother, boss, acquaintance, homeless guy down the street...whatever! I was up at 4 this morning and our show doesn't start until 8 tonight, so I'm thinking a nap is in store when I get home. 8 hours at work today, nap, and a 2+ hour movie...not going to be a tremendous amount of walking. We have a lot of work and dog walking planned for the weekend, though. :) Only 1 week until we are ready to adopt!! :smiley:

    Thanks for getting us started, mlh! Goals are good exercise wise...not that great eating wise...not horrible...but certainly not losing.

    Goal of 125 miles for December plus, once a week hit 5 miles.

    Ha Ha...and now it's over! Thank goodness!! :) Just not my thing, but the bf loved it. It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen...and this new one definitely kept my attention better than the others (could be that it was so loud, or that I was afraid of falling asleep in a full theatre...LOL). I don't care if I ever see it again, though. The BF is already making plans to go see it again with one of his friends. I must admit, I did enjoy watching all the people who were so excited!! I was sitting next to a 10-12 y/o girl and it was very entertaining.

    So...my fitbit has stopped telling me when the battery is low. :( It wasn't a great weekend. Yesterday, I thought I had turned my bluetooth off and just wasn't syncing. I realized around 7 PM that it was dead. Did a plug in/charge and some stepping before bed. I suspect it died sometime Saturday and I just didn't realize. :( Booo.

    Hope everyone has a great week! I'm only working 3 days!!! This is my first Christmas off in 5 years. Oh, the joys of working in healthcare!

    I'm insanely tired. Haven't slept well the last 2 night and today, I got to work and my supervisors failed to plan for 2 people to be off and a 3rd called out. We usually have 4 or 5 people doing the same job I do, and right now, I'm alone. (One of the scheduled off comes in to cover lunches and is me when I leave...guess who's not staying late!) The supervisors have no idea how to do our job and more than likely will not be a help at all. The 1 person that's coming in is not the ideal person to be alone with. :( On the bright side, my workweek's 1/2 over and I baked cookies last night. :)

    Started out strong and then the rain came. We are still on for our attempt to earning our 45K Steps in a Day Badge . . . I'm scared, probably more about walking across the Golden Gate Bridge than anything, but I guess after 30+ years living in San Francisco it's probably about time.

    That sounds amazing!! My BF has family there and I think walking across the Golden Gate would be very scary, but also incredible!! I'm tearing up just thinking about it! Have a great time!!!
