I thought this quote was an interesting perspective. I tend to focus on the final result instead of how I got there. Kind of like taking time to enjoy the journey, and the small things that maybe won't check anything off my to-do list but are those moments where I'm investing in my family or my hubby.
About to head out on my long run. 14 miles. Eek! Four weeks until my marathon. I'll be adding two miles each week so I'll be up to 20 miles before race day. Fingers crossed that it goes well. Had a good conversation with hubby last night about stuff. Worked a bunch of things out. I'm not good at being assertive...I always feel like I'm being a b**** but I need to get over that. So I guess that's a good New Years resolution. Hubby is watching the kids this morning and bringing them to worship practice so I could sleep in and not have to get up at 5 am. Got all our presents wrapped and under the tree and the other ones are all set to be mailed. That was a huge relief! Laundry today and that's about it. Got nothing planned, just want to hang out with the kiddos and maybe have some down time for myself.
Marla - It's so hard to get motivated to workout when it's not enjoyable. Glad that there is hope, but bummer that you have to wait for that gym to be finished!
Sherry - When does DH return? Was it Tuesday? Glad you're getting things in order! It takes so much stress off when things are more organized!
Have a great weekend everyone!0 -
Well i ended up with great work out, machines only lasted 1/2 hr but when we went out danced all night so much fun and 3 members of band had dinner with us. Friend of my friend had kid in band. They got us in as guests which was nce as it was $20 a piece!
Rare sun day so going for long walk. Rain next 5.
Val, you sure have some motivation! And Christmas done too, impressed. We are going shopping monday to finish finished grandkids.
Sherri, my fingers are crossed something will work for you with pain. I have had back pain on and off all week and it eats at you and makes it hard to be positive, hang in there.0 -
Hi, quick check in. Did final stage of the big toy sort, where I actually let the kids make some selections. Took out two bags of trash from the sort. Now, to get all the goody bags (clothes and toys and blankets, etc) out of here and tend to some of the problem zones that collect random stuff (like the infinite supply of drawings my lil artist cranks out and leaves everywhere, lol) and I'll be done...for like a day, lololol! DH gets back Tuesday and Wed will have to be wrapping day for whatever he brings for the kids, which shouldn't be too much I don't think.
Today the ibuprofen started helping midway through the day and I also added a little heel insert to my right shoe. Maybe the insert helped. ?0 -
Sherry it took some time for the ibuprofen to really help me so it requires some patience. It's not an immediate relief so much as its working on reducing the inflammation already built up. And as my ortho warned me, the most dangerous time is when you first start to feel better, because almost everyone's inclination is to overdo it.
Val that would be great if you could start getting paid! You do a lot from the sounds of it. And from your post it looks like your run went great?
Marla dinner & dancing sounds like you had a fun night. Your husband got along well with the other couple?
I am still not back to 100% but I'm getting better. I decided yesterday to stop taking all the extra drugs (except my regular allergy drugs) because I'm starting to feel like a pharmacy between the vertigo drugs & the congestion/cold pills I've been taking to get at the underlying issue. I've had a few moments of feeling lightheaded today but not too bad. I'm on day 18 & the doctor said it could take 21, but to call her if it hadn't cleared up by then.
