Should mfp and connect number be the same?

I have my goal on mfp set to loss 05lb a week giving me 1840 calories for the day, I have mfp & garmin synced. Activity calories on garmin connect are stated as 'Total Calories - BMR Calories'. This is where I get confused as you appear to get calories for steps over 10,000 and any actual activities.
Yesterday my total calorie burn was 2013 with 23820 steps, I got activity calories of 447 which was subtracted from my calories in to give me a NET of 1068 or a calorie goal of 2287.
MFP gave me the following: calories in 1515, calories out 1590. Garmin synced and gave me -75 adjusted calories.
What I don't get is why I'm getting extra calories on connect but a minus on mfp? Should I just ignore the connect data, as I ate 1515 calories yesterday and burnt 2013 (according to my garmin) gaving me a deficit of 498. Connect claims I still had 773 calories to reach a NET of 1840, MFP claims only 250 left to reach a goal of 1763.

Although my calorie goals are the same on MFP and Garmin, my active calories dont go over on for one to MFP. But the difference isnt 500+ calories. How does your original calorie goal in MFP before exercise compare to your calorie goal in Garmin before exercise?0

27th December pre-sync
Connect - Goal = 1840 | Consumed = 2293 | Exercise = 0 | Net = 2293 | Remaining = -453
MFP - Goal = 1840 | Consumed = 2293 | Exercise = 0 | Net = 2293 | Remaining = -453
27th December post-sync
Connect - Goal = 2269 | Consumed = 2293 | Exercise = 429 | Net = 1864 | Remaining = -24
MFP - Goal = 1759 | Consumed = 2293 | Exercise = -84 | Net = 2377 | Remaining = -534
TOTAL CALORIE BURN FOR DATE = 1995
So connects net & calories remaining are completely out and should just be ignored? Should 'active' be anything above my selected activity level?0 -
Active is anything about your BMR which in Garmin's case doesn't use your the activity level in Garmin, it just uses your height, weight, information, calculates your true BMR, adds a 20% factor to get the Garmin BMR. Anything above that is Active calories. The Active calories is what typically goes over to MFP when the goal is the same (or at least some of it does, I never get the full value). What type of exercise are you doing, is it just your calories from steps? If so, did you see the steps come over to MFP? Garmin is showing it right but it doesn't seem like your information came over to MFP and with negative adjustment on, it gave you minus exercise calories.0

I get it but I why is garmin saying I have a goal above my total TDEE for the day.
The 27th was just 22,853 steps. If I don't have negative adjustment on will the full activity amount e.g. 429 come over to mfp?
When you say goal do you mean calorie goal as it's the same on both.
I think I'm just going to ignore connect data and go with mfp otherwise I'd be eating too much.0
