Okay everyone here goes the last week taking us to the end of the month and the end of the year. I feel my year has actually been pretty good.... I have made 100 miles every month and I have maintained my weight for the year. A friend wants me to go to a trainer with her starting in the new year.... not sure if I can schedule it. Working an hour from home everyday eats up a lot of time. But ... we will see!!

I can't believe it's the final stretch of the month and year!! Where has it gone??? I have not hit 100 every month, but I put my 2014 numbers in the notes section of my calendar and filled in this year and improved on every month of 2014!! Last December, I didn't even participate!

I just averaged my mileage for 2014 and for the 8 months that I completed, the overall average was 79.2 miles with highest being 101 and only 2 months over 100. This year, for the first 11 months, my average is 99.43 (so close!) with high of 126 and 6 over 100 miles, 2 over 120 and 4 over 110!!

I'm behind where I wanted to be at this point for December, but should pass 100 miles easily (and we are still planning on adopting a dog this coming weekend, so that will get me off my hiney, regardless of which one - the active older or a puppy!). My goal is still 120 with 10 days at 5+.

    22nd - 5.12 = 78.49, 6/10 (41.51 miles to go for 120, 21.51 for 100 and 9 days to do it in!)

Hope everyone has a great holiday. I will be getting some steps in, but won't be checking in until I'm back to work on Monday!! (It's such a pain posting here on the mobile.)

Ugh, not really into getting to the bike this morning...but will do so...anyone else up and moving? Gosh, I did not overdo but I really wish it were cold and dreary outside...sun will be up soon and it is just plain cold. HAVE A GREAT DAY AFTER!

    Dec 25 - 1.0 mile
    Dec 26 - 1.9 miles (running total - 79.2 miles)

Oh my goodness , we got home really late last night so I am sitting here this morning surveying the damage.... the 3 days away from home at a cabin for Christmas has left me very far behind in my miles... But we had a great time together as a family. Loved my time with the grandkids!!

I have made it over 100 miles a month since I started tracking - I have 20.8 miles to make in the next 5 days!!! 4.2 miles per day. I think I best get at it... I have also gained, I am 3 pounds over my starting weight for the year. A little bit of work to do for the next 5 days.....

    Take care everyone!!

Hope everyone had a good holiday! We had a good time with both the boyfriend's and my family and adopted a puppy this weekend! We went younger than I wanted...he's only 9 weeks old. Got a little time before I have a walking/jogging buddy. His name is Carl and he's a Husky/Lab mix. Looks more like a lab than a husky.

Also had my MD appt on Christmas Eve. My MD got onto me about my weight, as any good doc would have. I'm supposed to talk to the office today about my results, but they have a patient portal that I can log into and see. :( It's not as bad as it could be, but it's not good. As far as the recent blood sugar drops, my A1C is high and puts me in the pre-diabetic range, the only thing good about it, is that I'm only 0.2 into that range. My cholesterol is only slightly high, except for the Triglicerides...the carbs, and that's more than a few points high. I expected that. He also did a test that I wasn't familiar with, and the results of it were abnormal. I looked it up and among some really bad things, it can also indicate rheumatoid arthritis. Might be good to know that it's not just my weight causing my joints to ache, and maybe there's a fix for it.

I've been dilligent about getting on here and logging miles, but I've been lax about my food. I have got to get on board with that and literally, work my butt off!!! I expect to have a follow up with my MD in 3 to 6 months and have got to show him results. I am also not at all interested in having to prick my finger or take daily injections. :(

Here are the numbers for the long weekend:

    23 - 2.6
    24 - 5.06
    25 - 3.14
    26 - 3.7
    27 - 3.48

Total = 102.47, 7/10 (17.53 to reach the 120 goal and 4 days to do it in...4.38 per day...totally doable!!)

mlh37214.... Rheumatoid arthritis runs in our family. My naturopath told me that too much sugar in the blood will make the joints hurt worse. So I am supposed to avoid sugar as much as possible. And if I avoid sugar I am so much better. I actually get a really bad headache the next day if I have sugar or anything with yeast in it. I can have fruits on the low end of the glycemic scale - anything with berry in it, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, Saskatoon berries, and I do have apples also. I am sure you will be able to get your numbers down in a couple of months

Thanks for the info Lilymay! I know I eat too much sugar. And I've been so lax lately. I'm back to bringing both breakfast and lunch. Yesterday, I stopped for coffee (black only), and today I had hot chocolate. :( Probably not the best decision, but I'm going to have to fight life long habits! I know I feel better with activity, which usually has the diet follow, so I'll have to be more aware of the connection. The MD didn't call yesterday like I expected, to give me his interpretation. He already told me at the appt to "hit the ground running," with respect to diet and exercise to work on the weight. All else will follow, I guess. Guess this is my punishment for waiting almost 10 years between physicals! :open_mouth:

The new puppy has not increased my steps! He will walk a little bit, but time is spent investigating instead of moving. And in the house, we have had to keep an eagle eye on him, so I've not been doing the pacing/tv walking (he also likes to get under feet). LOL...lots of chewing and getting into things.

    28 - 2.62 miles = 105.09, 7/10

I'm hoping we can get our behinds to the gym for a little bit today. The little guy is doing pretty well alone while we are at work (the BF goes home at lunch, so he's only alone about 2 1/2 - 3 hours at a time with our schedules).

The crud has hit our house...I think I have the least of it, but not sleeping and can't breathe. The bf has some kind of GI thing...hopefully he doesn't share!!! The pup has a respiratory infection and got a trip to the vet for the 2nd time in 2 days. :(

29 - 2.4 miles = 107.49 (7/10). Doesn't look like I'm going to make my goals. I'm not going to stress over it. I've done better with my eating habits (and getting up to care for the puppy, I've been making my lunch/breakfast and doing better nutritionally, instead of eating here and not planning).

Sorry to hear everyone is ill. Get Well soon and don't sweat the missed goals. Sounds like you are doing all the right things

Happy New Year's eve everyone. I am off to the city today with DMIL to get her new glasses. No plans for going out anywhere - we haven't done that for some time now. Kids are all gone to significant others parents. Usually watch the World Juniors, do a puzzle and go to bed. Not very exciting eh!!

    Way to go everyone!

31st - 2.72 = 112.62 and 7/10. Short of my goals, but still much better than I've been in previous months.
