Shoes?

I've worn out my cross trainers that I work out in, and need new shoes. Since I want my primary focus in the gym now to be lifting, are there shoes you have found help you the most? I'm open to any brand, design, style...I do have a flat and wide(r) foot...any suggestions on shoes you like to lift in?

I just bought Converse All Stars (on recommendation from many on the NR FB boards) to replace my worn-out Adidas running shoes. I haven't yet had a chance to try them but they certainly were priced right, and they also have the flat sole that is recommended for lifting.0

Good question.
Right now I just use whatever I have, which are some really old sneakers and a pair not as old that my mom had given me to wear to work (we're supposed to have black or white though it's not very enforced). They aren't as bad as running shoes but close. I'm looking for some new shoes soon though as I can afford some thanks to Christmas gifts but haven't made any decisions yet. Also need new running shoes.
I did like squatting and deadlifting in just socks, though. Only problem is it makes me shorter and the power cage isn't well set up at that height, so I'd need to use the squat rack instead (it's a tad lower) or move the things to the other side of the cage and not see the mirror, which is how I check my knees and depth...0 -
Second Chucks. They're flat and great to lift in0

Now that I've tried my Chucks I really like them.0
