Welcome to the 2016 Fitness Challenge Group Page!

This group is for employees of TAC participating in the 12-week 2016 Fitness Challenge that begins Monday, January 4th and ends Sunday, March 26th.

The "official" rules of the challenge are pretty simple:
-Weigh yourself at the beginning and end of the challenge and record this weight yourself, you do not need to turn it in or show anyone. This is based on the honor system.
-At the end of the challenge you will compute your body fat % loss over the entire 12 weeks based on your start and finish weigh-ins and post that % number on the group page.
-Log your workouts weekly, our "goal" is to meet the American heart Association's recommended weekly fitness:
*At least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity at least 5 days per week for a total of 150 minutes
OR
*At least 25 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity at least 3 days per week for a total of 75 minutes; or a combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity activity
AND
*Moderate- to high-intensity muscle strengthening activity at least 2 days per week for additional health benefits.

Is anyone going to check that you met every qualification in these guidelines each week? No. Make your best effort to meet these qualifications the MAJORITY of the weeks in the challenge.

Each week will have a HEALTHY HABIT challenge and feel free to check in and share your progress, invite others to partake in a fitness class, share healthy recipes, etc on the discussion board.
