It seems like when I reached my 40s the weight gain became stubborn, and didn't leave as quickly as it did in my 30s.

    I agree. I have to try twice as hard as I used to. I have incorporated more weight training again to see if that helps at all. The last couple of years I have consistently been doing 60mmin cardio 6x a week, but that just does nothing now..l

    Just think about how much easier losing weight in your 40's will seem when you're in your 50's and 60's. No better time to step up the game then right now, yeah?
