Thread starter was a reminder to me as I approach the New Year that I had some failures this past year, but also a lot of successes and to keep trying new things until I find what works for me!
Marla - good luck with the painting! Hopefully you got everything prepped in time!
Laura - Sounds like a nice run! I'm doing 5 miles this morning, after I drop the kiddos off at school.
Kiddos start school today! I finally got to hold baby Charlie yesterday and she is absolutely precious!
Today I have a five mile run. I'm trying out new socks today that have separated toes in them. They are supposed to reduce friction. Since I've now gotten a nasty blister on the same spot on each foot in between my big and little toe, I am testing these out to see if they rub that area still. Hopefully they work well!
Excited to get back into a normal routine! Over the next few days I'm going to take care of some little things...doctor and dentist appointments for the kiddos, get oldest child's birthday party all set, etc. I'm also going to get my training planned out for this year, and redo my routine a bit. My hubby has been much happier the past couple of weeks and a big change was I was still up when he came home. I'm hoping to keep this up by switching my workouts from early morning to evening/night. Hubby has agreed to take on one morning a week prepping the kids for school and such so on my long run I can sleep in the next day. My long bike would be Friday as I sleep in on Saturday. Hoping this works. It helped last night as, on top of having a chance to chat with hubby, I didn't have to race to bed as soon as I got the kids in bed. I could take some time to finish up any chores and then slowly unwind. Hoping this works well for my family! I can still get about 7 hours of sleep, and I'm hoping to streamline morning routine a bit more so I can squeeze another half hour in before having to get up in the morning.
Have a great start to a new week everyone!0 -
Lol my thread starter for today had same theme, I am going to try and change the date to Tuesday, you must not have seen it.
Rainy day here, painter doing kitchen/dining room next few days, he should be here soon.
My mid back is hurting again from bending. Might do short walk if i can find a hour without heavy rain.0 -
It let me edit..so Tuesday is there!!0

val, hope you're feeling well. Good luck with the continued juggling act of mamawifeathlete. After taking my workout break both for my legs and for home organization, DH keeps going on and on about how the house has transformed (there's still more to do though) and for that I feel accomplished. But the expense has been my fitness goals. He also goes on and on about how great the kids are and how great it is that even though he goes away for weeks he can return to truly happy, well-adjusted kids who are thriving, but much of this is at the expense of his and my relationship (like going yeeeears between dates because we are raising the kids alone, without grandparents aunts etc). But we are working on it. It's just never really balanced it seems. I hope your rescheduling keeps things balanced for you and hubby.
Marla, cool, we're already a day ahead ready! I used to go post a weeks worth at a time, but since I've been on the tablet more than the laptop, it's not so easy to do.
Well, legs still iffy. Missed a dose sleeping but felt fine and took as soon as I could. Next dose I knew exactly when it was due bc leg started aching. What the heck did I do to myself! Ugh. Anyway, my main focus atm is to log food and come in around my calorie goal everyday to try to get some pounds off. Kids back to school Friday and hoping my legs really do get all the way well soon, bc I've come this far and idk if I want to risk what might be a "recovery" to workout only to set myself back again. Sigh.0
