I buy too much food.

I had some friends over for lunch today. I cooked the right amount of food. No leftovers! But I bought too much, and got too tired to cook it all. It worked out for lunch, but then I received a delivery from my CSA later on. It included several bunches of greens, radishes, grapefruit, butternut squash, apples, oranges, broccoli, Italian parsley, and a dozen pasture-raised eggs. I've still got a couple heads of leaf lettuce, cucumbers, celery, carrots, and cherry tomatoes in the fridge.
I'm the only one eating it!
A full fridge makes me feel safe. If I know that I have lots of options, options that I really like and can prepare quickly, then I won't find myself in line at the Jack-in-the-Box between work and home. Yes, this food snob goes slumming.
Tonight, I'm roasting Russian kale with shallots and garlic in the oven. Looking forward to poached eggs over roasted greens in the morning.
