Fitbit/Jawbone etc etc

Hello! So how many of you folks use a step tracker like a fitbit or Jawbone etc?
I got my Fitbit Charge HR during the week and I am fixated with steps now... The way you can link with friends and challenge them us a great motivator!
The only thing I'm trying to get used to is where to log the activity. If u log it in MFP it appears to not register with fitbit, so I get double calories burned (looks great but not accurate). The HR monitor is proving very useful for my cycles...
If you don't already have one, I would highly recommend!

I'm tempted to get a new one. Mine decided to die in Feb. or so last year, so I just switched to a phone app. It works the same and, since I'm broke, I don't pay for more gear.0

I used to use the phone app, but found that when I needed to charge the phone - at the office - I obviously wouldn't get the correct step count. Wasn't a massive issue until I decided to focus on losing weight again...0

I have a fitbit, and I just let it track exercise, I don't put anything into MFP. For strength training type of exercise you could log it and just put zero kcal burn if you want?0

I've been counting steps for almost two years and I love it...it's made a huge difference. I am hugely motivated to get steps. I think of it as more of an anti-couch-potato metre than anything else. (It's not something forgotten in another room, it's an opportunity to get more steps). For more than a year I got 15,000 daily steps with a regular pedometer religiously and I lost 60 pounds. I also ate a lot better. I recently got the Fitbit Charge HR and I like how little I have to think about it but it over counts my steps (because it counts arm movements). So now I go for 17,000 steps, which is really about 15k real steps for me. I like the heart monitor for when I'm on the treadmill to help me stay in the fat burning zone.0

I have a pedometer which I use now and then but it's not very accurate. I use my HRM (Polar FT7) for the gym and jogging and I love it. I give myself targets (1000 calories) and stick to it. It warns me when I'm in the fat burning zone so it's extremely useful. It's working for me and it gives me the motivation to reach my target.
I was tired at the gym last night but when I checked and I had done 800 calories, I pushed myself until I went over 1000.0
