    My daughter poked her head around the corner (to where I was working on a project) to ask whether she could have "more than her fair share" of birthday cheesecake.

    What she meant was, "May I have yours?"

    I said, "Sure."

    It took a while for me to realize that I hadn't even thought twice about it: 'Sure' she could have my slice of chocolate tuxedo cheesecake, I said.
    And I said it without a single pang...

    Its a good feeling right. I had the same when my son made bread and butter pudding at school and I had to pass on it...
