    Hi,

I live in a tropical location close to a beach.
    I love books.
My username comes from my location and my love of books.
I have a daughter who has some special needs of the learning disability variety.
I have an awesome husband. He loves to work out and he's my biggest fan.
I've been with my husband for 23 years and married for 13 years of that time. We dated for a LONG time before we got married.
I am introverted but not shy.
I love coffee shops, large bookstores, and preferably a place that has both!
I love sci-fi and geeky books and films.
I love tiramisu, good coffee (am a coffee snob! ), my mom's pork curry, good salads, and anything with bacon in it.
I'm a young cancer survivor with a really good prognosis and I hope to keep it that way. :drinker:
I hardly ever drink and have never smoked.
I've had dogs, cats, and mini-lops rabbits. A home isn't complete without a pet and some pet hair, I say.

You'd be right at home in our house-- I try to control the pug hair but you just can't get it all.

    Hi Ladies *waves*

I know I haven't been as active in the chat thread.....this whole life thing sometimes gets in the way doesn't it :grumble:

I'm Lisa.....34, single, and mom to Mini Vegas who is 9 going on 19

I have been in sales and customer service really since I started working. Went to college and received an accelerated diploma in Management which has really served me no purpose whatsoever except that it shows post secondary on my resume  I'm currently a Territory Sales Manager for an international office supply company. While I love my job and it affords me great flexibility, I am looking to make a career change.

I'm in the process of studying to receive my Nutrition and Wellness Certification. I will also be going for my personal trainer certification as well as group fitness instructor certification. My dream is to be able to make a full time job out of this whole fitness thing. Ultimately I want to help other women feel as awesome as I do these days

I'm always dating, maybe a bit boy crazy, but ultimately looking for "THE ONE". Here's to hoping he pops around one day. Pretty sure no more kids though because, well, I haven't worked this hard on this body for nothing and I'm feeling pretty selfish these days

Oh and I live in Alberta, Canada.....Edmonton area to be a bit more exact.

    There you have it

    Hello! I'm Kate!

    I live in London (UK.) I'm 31.

I work, eat, sleep and breathe videogames.

I'm a hobby addict - running, sewing, writing, climbing, Spanish-speaking... I wish there were more hours in the day to do more hobbies!

When I was young, I was very shy, but now I seem to have gone too far the other way.

    I lurrrrrrve cake.

    I haaaaaaate spiders.

I am a grown-up masquerading as a child. Or a child masquerading as a grown-up. Can't quite make up my mind.

I am Kasey.... thats it! Just kidding!

I am 27, I am from West Virginia and absolutely love it here. I have a 7 year old exact version of myself and man is it world war III in our house daily because of it. lol. I am a single mom..sordive. I have a boyfriend of 5 years. He and I are total total opposites, but even though he drives me bonkers I love him.

I was always the fat kid getting picked on. If you would have told me 5 years ago I would have been on this journey I would have told you I didn't need to be on this journey at all. You live and learn!

I am OCD about being on a routine and feel the world will end if anyone screws my routine up. I suffer anxiety. I get bored with things easily. I hate to read unless it is something that benefits me. I love to cook but hate to clean the mess. I am addicted to Blueberry Pineapple tea (it is like my crack). I seriously believe every meal should be followed with desert, even desert! I have attempted to become a runner... I DO NOT LIKE IT! I am a huge fan of hello kitty, batman, and zombies.

I could probably go on for days, but I will stop as this is a start into my very plain little life. lol  :drinker:

    Hi!
    * My name is Lynette and I’m 35.
    * I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, but I’ve been living in South Florida for the last 19yrs. (Still struggle with my English a little…)
    * I dated my Husband for 6.5yrs and we’ve been married for 9.5.
    * Mother of two, a 6yr old son and a 4yr old daughter
    * I am a Senior Architectural Drafter working for a Marine construction company
    * I love reading and my highest count was 215books in a year (2012) (mostly fiction)
    * I am an introvert, I take “forever” to open up and engage in conversation with new people. Can’t have small talk to save my life and that is one of the main reasons why I stick to my friends list and don’t venture much into the forums.
    * I can’t drink (No taste buds for it and I fall asleep 5 minutes latter) and never smoked before.
    * I can’t have pets or be too close to animals – Extreme allergies to the point of closed off airways, I lose my vision, and my face swells up… (Yeah, really bad)
    * I like to sing and I have a decent voice; but doing it in public is something that I have not done since the birth of my son.
    * I apply makeup, do my hair, and use high heels on a daily basis. (But don’t consider myself high maintenance because is not like I would die if I don’t have my flat iron or my wedges.)
    * I LOVE lifting and the challenge that it brings.

    Hello Ladies :)
I'm Anjuli...new here and have been lurking.

I'm an Aries, 37 and 5'1.25" and yes, .25 matters

Born and Raised in India but, moved to USA @ 22. I live in Maryland.

I work full time (IT Specialist), am married (8 years) and have 2 year old B/G Twins.

Yes, I'm guilty of being a hermit as well. Plus, marrying an introvert didn't help my social life  . I'm always on a lookout for making like minded friends

I love to read - mostly para romance, romance, suspense/mystery. Reading for me = de-stressing. That's why I keep it to light reading. My all time favorite book - Pride and Prejudice

I love movies and TV a bit much. Trying to cut back on our TV time. Plus, with little ones we barely have time for ourselves now let alone TV. So, it kinda works.

I think I am naturally a lazy person.

Lifting has been life saving for me. I enjoy it. I also realized how much I hate cardio and running after I discovered heavy lifting  . Lifting is zen like for me (when I'm not injured or struggling to find time for myself)...I workout at home.

Working on losing weight/fat and getting fit for life. I feel I am just losing time and getting no results. :grumble:

I love cakes, desserts and cakes! (yes, that much). I will forget everything for a chocolate ganache cake

I am a planner and love to plan vacations, life etc. It bothers me when things don't go according to plan.

I LOVE music and listening to music while I workout is good for me

I seriously think I was born with no patience, . I also get frustrated very fast.

I normally don't volunteer information unless, asked specifically cuz I am pretty boring :ohwell:

hmm...I can't think of anything else?

ETA: I am also looking for non food related stuff to do on date nights. So if you guys have any ideas...feel free to let me know  We haven't been on a normal date for about 2 years now.

Awww, I love all of you!! Hugs all around!

I am going to be 50 on Wednesday and I have never been happier in my life. No kids, married three times, currently living with my boyfriend. I hope this arrangement will last the rest of our lives but I am now extremely cynical about such things.

Two dogs -- a big 'un and a little 'un, 'cause little dogs are, like, totally different species compared to big dogs. And a kitty who doesn't do much anymore but lie around looking pretty. A fish tank that we're re-doing. And....

over 400 houseplants. Gesneriads, which is a family of plants that includes African Violets. This is a serious passion of mine. But not as big a passion as...

riding Harleys! I own two, my boyfriend has two. We ride all the time. Our tiny dog comes with us. In June we took a 3,600 mile trip to Northern California and Southern Oregon and it was fabulous.

I live in Denver, Colorado now and have for 18 years. I was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived in D.C. and Maryland for almost 15 years.

I have a degree in Russian language that I never used. I have a degree in accounting and work as a tax accountant for a hotel chain.

Until 8-9 years ago my life was a complete mess. I drank heavily and used drugs extensively. Then I was in a motorcycle accident...

I got my own license because I figured I could wreck my own bike just as easy as wrecking on the back of someone else's.

I got fibromyalgia and felt *awful* for a long, long time.

I got sober because I felt so awful. Also because I found two programs that helped. One was a nutrition program. I'm a big believer in these two programs and I spend a lot of time giving service to others who are working them.

After I got sober I started to binge-eat. When that subsided, my diet was left looking very 'clean' -- not a lot of sugars in my food diary these days. You will *never* hear me fueling up with ice cream. That just doesn't work for my particular body.

So the journey these last 8 1/2 years has been transformational, not always simple, and there've been detours but I learn from them, too. My weight, which skyrocketed when I was binge eating, is the last big thing left for me to work on.

I've been lifting off and on for 15 years -- "off" a lot when my FM was at it's worst. Today, I'm almost always just grateful that I get to show up and do my best. 'Cause there was a time when I couldn't do that. I take nothing for granted now.

    Hi, I'm Anne "Leadfoot" Lewis

-Hobbies-Auto racing, cycling, drawing/art, and of course...lifting heavy things!

Anne--what association/series do you race? My hubby is race director for the central region of a small-ish association(I have taken a couple of DEs).

    Okay--me:

I am an in-house lawyer for a big company. I specialize in a very interesting but very hectic area.

I was a cheerleader in college a VERY long time ago.

I am a mom to a 12-year old soccer addict so we will be traveling with his team throughout the Midwest this upcoming year.

I love photography and any sort of visual creative endeavor, but I am terrible at gardening. However, am obsessed with beets (having them for dinner tonight....mmmmm).

I am stubborn and opinionated and sensitive....and I also married someone who is stubborn and opinionated and sensitive. But boy oh boy is he cute as hell.

The TV is on a lot in our house. Sundays, it's like we are in England because there is either a soccer game on in the background or a pre-recorded road race. Or the BBC version of Top Gear (my son is a fan of James May).

I turned 40 two weeks ago. I gave myself an early gift when I decided in March to change up my routine from running and light weight reps. I had taken martial arts up until my 20s, so I found some MMA based DVD routines that I love and can do at 5:30 in the morning, then started lifting. I am having challenges with allowing myself enough time to recover, so I have to be okay with not progressing as fast.

    - My name is Sandy
    - I live in upstate NY, about 3 hours north of NYC. I love it here. I live in a great town up here.
    - I'm married and I have two kids in elementary school who are 18 months apart
    - My favorite thing to do is walk in the woods. It can either be an all day hike, a 5K trail run, or just a stroll. There's really nothing I like better.
    - I also like walking around old cemeteries.
    - I get a $2 scratch-off lotto ticket every Saturday morning. It's part of our weekend routine.
    - I was raised in a vegetarian household. I didn't try any meat at all until I was about 12. I don't think I tried fish until I was about 17. My teenage rebellion was eating meat. I'm a total omnivore now, but it's no pressure at all for me to figure out what to feed vegetarian guests.
    - I majored in English in college because it was an easy major and I just wanted to finish school. I didn't want to be a writer, a teacher or anything that major generally leads to. My biggest regret is not going back to school for something more science-y. I realize it's really not too late, but it's a big commitment to make.
    - I learned how to be an athlete when I was in college. I had been on the rowing team in high school, but I just did it because a couple of my friends did. In college I learned how to train hard and realized I could actually be really good at something.
    - I was also on the track & field team in highschool. I threw the shotput. I was 5'4" and about 120 lbs and I was better at it than most of the bigger girls. But the whole "I'm an athlete" thing didn't kick in until college.

Hammond is just more aesthetically pleasing than May or Clarkson, so he gets my vote!

Anne--if you have ever heard of NASA (National Auto Sport Association), my husband is involved with the Central Region.
