Any ideas on using our 'Event' feature?

I've never done an 'Event' and I'm curious how they work. I know they have a Start Date and an End Date, and there ends the sum total of my knowledge on 'Events'. Searching the site specifically and the web in general for more information on MFP's 'Events' has not be productive. Please post here any information you may have on how 'Events' work.

Anyone have any fun ideas on how we can use our 'Events'?

Maybe a weekly or monthly drawing from those who have updated us on each workout completed(?). What would the prize be? (I assume 'Events' have some sort of motivating prize.)

Your input is appreciated.

After looking at actually creating an 'Event', looks like the feature is more of 'Hey, party at Dave's this Saturday from 6 to midnight. Be there or be square." type of thing rather than challenges. (I'm sad. :( ) Not giving up, just not sure how to make it work as a challenge. (... maybe forget 'Events' and create a challenge thread... [hmmm])

    Scratching a curiosity bump.

How many of us have FitBits or other step trackers?

I have a Garmin Vivofit. An Event can be a challenge (i.e., January 15 - Feb 15 10,000 steps) or something like that...

    Next curiosity bump.

How many can get a measure of their heart rate during or immediately after a workout? (One can count their pulse manually for 15 secs and multiple by 4 if need be.)

    Easy-peasy with my Charge HR.

(Yes, this is going somewhere but not sure it will work with just three.)

I forgot that I have a free app on my iphone that can measure heart rate. Takes a little practice to get the right finger preassure.

Search for 'Instant Heart Rate' in you app store.
