Went to the doctor today to have cholesterol read and discuss my new woe. I went fully armed, as suggested, with a list of books and much data stored in my mini brain to justify it. When I told her I was doing a LCHF she just nodded her head and said she had lost a lot of weight with the paleo diet and liked that woe. She also mentioned she was not one who thought all fats were 'bad' and that my cholesterol readings showed that this woe was agreeing with me totally. She was of the opinion that KETO is not a sustainable way of eating and that I'd probably want to transition to paleo sometime later and that I should switch from tea to water since tea won't flush the kidneys. I just nodded ... haven't done research on that but will hold off on arguments til I have all info I need to win. All in all, I'm blessed to have a doc that is open minded

That's great! I've been lucky too in that my GP is totally ok with keto because it's anti-inflammatory. My rheumatologist isn't 100% sold on keto because of the lack of fruits but she does say that if a particular diet makes a patient feel better then she's fine with it.

I'm looking for a new PCP since ours quit but hoping to have one that's supportive.
I'm not necessarily planning to try to stay in ketosis long-term and might move more toward the Wahls Diet once I'm in maintenance but we'll see. (I'm not sure I can be convinced to give up my cheese and HWC unless I notice a difference for me though. ;) )
