Howdy:
If you scroll all the discussions, the post DIET 5 has 3 links to IF explanations.
So, Intermittent Fasting. Simple idea.
The argument goes...people have adopted Fixed Fasting...we eat in the morning, fast to noon, eat, then fast to dinner, eat, then fast overnight. Or people, with access to constant low-cost food, eat all day and fast overnight.
That's out of whack with our design. We were designed to take in calories variably, sporadically, in an Intermittent fashion.
There are several "formal" programs.
1) Eat Stop Eat
http://bradpilon.com/introduction-to-intermittent-fasting Brad Pilon: Introduction to Intermittent Fasting
There are lots of interviews with him, you can search them.
Here's the one with Bulletproof...it's a bit rambly, but you might like it. https://youtu.be/KqcGgQCJZq0
Or Primal Podcast here
https://youtu.be/orjHUjDeDgM
2) Warrior Diet
https://youtu.be/12iV9ZZunRc
Here is a pdf of the Warrior Diet http://zebupomp13.free.fr/Nutri/The-Warrior-Diet-Fat-Loss-Plan.pdf ...around pages 9-10 it starts discussing eating.
Again, you can search other interviews with Ori Hofmekler Warrior Diet Fasting.
Then, other info:

Oh, btw another one is:
Updaydownday
"http://www.johnsonupdaydowndaydiet.com/html/how-to-do-the-diet.html"
It's seems more commercial, like Atkins, but you might find some ideas about the "concept" of IF-ing

Even using the traditional diet timing (breakfast, lunch, dinner)..we can drop fat and shred down and transform our body. By just eating less, and maximizing nutrients that would happen.
But if you want to explore those Intermittent timings to maybe kickstart the system or just try something for a week or a few days.
We have:
EatStopEat
Warrior Diet (20 hr fast, 4 hr feeding window)
UpDayDownDay
Another is "leangains" (16 hr fast, 8 hr feeding window)
Very good description and contrast here...click on "brief primer"
And then even the "5:2 Diet" (eat normal 5 days, restrict calories 2 days)
***If you IF, be sure your fasts are fasts...but when you do eat, eat some calories (don't be afraid to eat food), get some high density nutrient foods in your body. Esp. if you are doing high intensity workouts. Be sure you are getting nutrients and fuel!!

My nephew has be preaching to me about increasing protein for over 2 years now and I just never eat as much as he says to. I've started to eat much more and I have to say that I am seeing more definition.
When I get home from vacay, I am going to try a few fasting days. BTW, our flight was cancelled on Sunday and now I'm not coming home until Tuesday AM. That moves my rest day to Tuesday instead of Wednesday this week.0 -
Sorry you're stuck - hope the extra time is a good thing!0
