Recipes that do not contain artificial sweeteners but diabetic friendly

I have been looking for diabetic friendly recipes online but I find most of them call for artificial sweeteners or stevia. I do no like the taste of any of these, I find it leaves a bad aftertaste, this is why I don't drink diet sodas. Any suggestions?

I just made these today, they are good. Even with the honey they are net 12 carbs each.

On MFP blog there is a recipe for whole wheat cranberry muffins. They are divine but I had to freeze and give away what was left because I could have kept eating them. They taste super good and with a bit of protein like cheese, that would keep the spike to a minimum0
