FWIW ...
On another forum I frequent a gentleman shared that a friend of his, who is a Dr., suggested that he start taking Choline.
He found that (for him) taking Choline along with each dose of Metformin dramatically lowered his blood sugar and it started working after the first day of use. He's almost completely stopped using insulin since he started using the combination.
He's not saying it will work for everyone but it has worked wonders for him and may be worth a try for others.
I've, personally, done no research on this but just needed to share the info in case it could help even one person.

Interesting. I had to look choline up. I had never heard of it.0

I haven't heard of that specifically, but it makes sense. Choline's main purpose is within the liver, where Metformin's primary action is also located. Choline supports liver metabolism in general, and Metformin increases the liver's insulin sensitivity. Better liver function overall = better Metformin action and improved blood sugar.

More info ...
The gentleman was asked how much choline he took. He said he took 250mg with each 500mg's of Metformin.
The Dr.s reasoning behind the choline is to "get the liver healthy" and with some people the choline can do the job.
The choline is available at GNC and is pretty cheap, around $10.00 for 100 x 250mg tablets.0 -
