Hello, I was curious about this group; thought there might be some discussion here. I would be interested in hearing why you started it, and more about you

Hihihihi --- AND a huge welcome!

I started it so that I would know I joined an active and friendly spiritual group; but I also started it because of a multitude of issues, including realizing that the less God I have in my life, the more I doubt Him -- and the more miserable and lonely I become.

I also tend to socialize better online, and I've been isolating myself in real life and online again.

    What about you? :)

Well, I am old enough to be your mom..in fact I have a daughter your age who likes to draw, I think your profile picture is similar to the style she does. That being said I can't agree with you more that when we put God first and make Him the focus our lives go so much smoother; not because we have less trials but because He helps us through them. "I will never leave you or forsake you" Hebrews 13:5
I am not good at socializing either, though I instinctively love people. I am just not good at the small talk thing and feel awkward in group situations where conversation is required.

I can throw myself into a conversation easily if it's about opinions, God, entertainment or life experiences. I just might not display/use social graces that everyone else takes for granted.

But small talk makes me uneasy, too. I never feel like I know what to say, so it usually sounds to me like I'm repeating myself. It is awkward..I don't know how others do it, but good for them!!

But it is good how God is with us, even in our awkward moments. :)

My husband is great at small talk. He is a salesman to the core and over the years his ability to talk to anyone has proven a boon in that capacity.
I actually don't mind just sitting and watching people, but I think it makes them uncomfortable. I am not the judgmental type, just interested in seeing what they are saying and doing rather than joining in with chit-chat.

I think God is holding us even tighter in our awkward moments, letting us know that we are "ok". I have decided to "get over myself" and not let things that are normally uncomfortable to me stop me from living my life. So far it has worked well.

Sorry, I had stuff going on, plus for r last few days I've had a usual memory span of, like, one minute. Lol.

I'm glad your husband has a skill he can use in life. And I think you do, too. Often, I believe, it is the most observant of us who know the most at the end. :)

I'm glad things are working out for you, then. That's wonderful. ^-^~

In my opinion God gives us all gifts but we don't always recognize them. As we grow and learn we figure it out along the way. Then it is up to us to use them according to His purpose.

I hope all is well; that the short attention/memory span is nothing to do with something serious? I don't mind if you aren't here all the time. And hopefully we'll get a few more people interested. I don't know if there is a way to keep it refreshed on the message boards or not so it comes up closer to the top? Either way, I'm happy to chat when you are up for it
