Do you force yourself to eat?

According to all literature, experts, and my diabetic team, I shouldn't skip meals. Shouldn't go more than 4-6 hours between meals.
But, what if you're just not hungry? According to all diet gurus, you should listen to your body and only eat when you're hungry.
I've been trying sooo hard to keep my blood sugars steady, and doing pretty well, trying to lose weight, and just eating healthy. But, I do find myself skipping meals because I'm just not hungry.
For instance, it's 11:37 here; I woke up this morning at 7:30; I haven't eaten breakfast or anything other than a cup of coffee so far today, and I'm just not hungry.
So, I'll make another cup of coffee and have a glucerna for diabetics bar just so I can say I had something to eat this morning.

I actually have to force myself NOT to do so if I suddenly crave things that I know would poison me. Ironic, no?

Yeah, I have days like that too. But mostly, I have days where I know I've missed a meal or a snack time, and I'm just not hungry. Then, by supper time, I'm feeling shaky and want to kick myself because I did it again. I think it's my 'rebel' in me that knows I'm supposed to eat regularly, but I don't like to be told to eat on a schedule. I'm almost 60, you'd think I would have this figured out by now. ;b

I'm finding as I eat fewer carbs , which results in a greater percentage of fat in my meals, that I feel full sooner. Am eating more veggies and protein. It just skews the macros to look like I'm eating more fat than I do. Not eating more grams of fat, it's just a higher percentage of the calories. It seems to result in not eating enough calories to make it up to the recommended amount. You are right judyvalentine512, sometimes coffee seems like enough.

When I do eat properly and on schedule, my carbs and fat and all the other little macros are ok. It's just that I seem to skip meals more often than not. Well, what's a girl to do?
