Hi.

I have been LCHF for 2 weeks now and have lost 9 pounds. I believe I have been in what I hear people call keto fog. When does that end and would doing something about my electrolytes help. I don't really know what I am supposed to do about those . Thanks. I have found the forum really helpful to stay motivated.

Hi there .....I am not sure what you have your sodium at but it is recommended that you up your sodium ..most of us on lchf or keto up it between 3000 to 5000....salt your food .....you can drink 1 tsp of salt with water ...and some drink bullion daily ...I hope that helps

I found that for me the fog was quite manageable and last only a few days. I never took anything for it. Make sure you drink lots of water and try having a couple cups of bouillon to keep up sodium if you don't know what to look for they come in small cubes and you dissolve in boiling water. Drink it like coffee. Cheap and available at all grocery stores. I like Knorr brand. Be sure not to buy reduced sodium/salt. You want all the salt. Good luck.

Definitely get the sodium up ASAP. As long as sodium is low, you're losing magnesium and potassium. So, at the point you're having symptoms, like brain fog, it's too late. Your body has already gotten low enough to have a noticeable effect on your ability to function. Supplementing magnesium in the form of glycinate or citrate or any that end with "ate" is the best course of action now. Actually, almost everyone is deficient anyway no matter how they eat. So it's s good idea no matter what.
Also get some lite salt or Nu salt, it's a salt substitute you'll find at the grocery store by the table salt. It has potassium chloride to give your potassium a boost. Add it to foods with salt and to broth or boullion to keep balanced.
