Week ONE

Is everyone else as excited to get this challenge started as I am? I'm so happy to see the teams forming, leaders being picked, and people getting to know each other. Which is a perfect time to have "contact with team member" as the first double-point challenge (not by coincidence).

Okay, so here's the current Team Roster:
RED Team: 5 members
Team Leader = Goingforahundred
Vazquezmom7
Campingma
Ttaylortulsa
Betsym3

ORANGE Team: This is an empty team that will be used if people want to join after the challenge has started (today).

YELLOW Team: 5 members
Team Leader: Janetay01
Miztessbert
Fabricwoman
Caleanra
Simbersea

*No extra points, BUT extra kudos to YELLOW for being the first to pick their team leader!

GREEN Team: 4 members
Team Leader: JessicaKahn606
Batgirl1994
MissEESmith
Fey1

BLUE Team: 2 members
Team Leader: (undecided)
Thenewamanda22
Tihi18

Since this team is so small – they may merge with another team. Though you never know, a dynamic duo may also be a force to be reckoned with! (it's fine either way, but please decide soon).

PURPLE Team: 6 members
Team Leader: wigal23
Bj0223
Lifeisspiffy
Janpuzzle31
Mz_tashae_007
RedVelvette

Even though we’re in these teams, I wish you ALL the best for a fabulous, fit and healthy week one!

Good luck all! I was thinking we should use this as a weekly thread for general chat, encouragement etc outside of our teams - thoughts?

@janetay01 I think that is a great idea! More support and communication is always needed and welcomed! No matter your team color! :)

Ladies - completely off topic of health, fitness and losing weight! I noticed through the introductions that we have a number of craft enthusiasts amongst us. I'm a complete novice feeling creative and wondering if this is for me - any card makers amongst us and if so, any advice as to a good place to start? Good books, websites etc?

    Thank you :)

Hi Jane -- I got inspired to get into cardmaking by watching Scrapbook Soup on my local public broadcasting system (PBS). You can access the projects they present on their website http://www.scrapbooksouptv.com/ which provides YouTube links for some of their projects. YouTube provides plenty of how to videos on card making, paper crafts, etc. I like watching someone do a project so I can see how it turns out. One word of caution - buying card making supplies can be addicting with all the choices for paper, embellishments, stamping, paper punches, etc. I've got quite the hoard of supplies. Good luck and have fun!

Hi Patti - thank you, I'll have a look at scrapbooksouptv - and didn't even think of YouTube!' The hoarding element concerns me a little - I could see myself getting over excited with all the options!

    ANNOUNCING: Week ONE Winners!

We are ALL winners -- just in the fact that we’re here, together, participating in this challenge and encouraging each other… However, this is a “challenge” with teams and all, and for some the friendly competition can be highly motivating, so without further adieu, here are the week ONE winners of the challenge!

TEAM winner: GREEN! The green team came in with the highest average points at 181.4! Way to go GREEN Team!
The rest of the team average points were:
    Yellow at 164
    Red at 146.6
    Purple at 142.4

And, the individual with most points award goes to… (drumroll)…
Miztessbert (Patti) with a whopping 219 points! That is amazing and inspiring!!

I know that there were some adjustments in teams during the week, this was to be expected, especially at the beginning of the challenge. There also may be new members wanting to join mid-challenge which is fine as long as we account for them when we take our averages (for example, if someone joins a team mid-week, it might make sense for them to start counting points the following week).

Here is the current team roster (somehow we managed to have exactly the same number of members in each team!):
    RED: 5 members
    Team Lead: goingforahundred
    betsym3
    vazquezmom7
    campingma
    ttaylortulsa

    YELLOW: 5 members
    Team Lead: Janetay01
    Miztessbert
    Fabricwoman
    Caleanra
    Simbersea

    GREEN: 5 members
    Team Lead: Jessicakahn606
    fey1
    Rstoken
    MissEESmith
    Batgirl1994

    PURPLE: 5 members
    Team Lead: wigal23
    BJ0223
    Janpuzzle31
    Lifeisspiffy
    RedVelvette

We are all off to a great start!! Let’s keep the momentum going!
