I have always used an activity tracker when I have been training or trying to lose weight. My first one was the 24 hour fitness bodybugg, then I got the body media fit. Unfortunately they went offline 1/31/16 so I needed to find a new activity tracker.
Activity tracking keeps me 100% accountable to myself, it motivates me to reach my activity goals, plus I can adjust my calories in or out as needed.
I have a Garmin Vivoactive. I like the GPS component and it functions like a smart watch. Plus I like to swim and bike and run/walk and it has a setting for all of these (indoor and outdoor). It even has a golf function, but I do not golf.
Anyways, I would say my activity tracker is my best weightless friend along with MFP. Plus MFP and Garmin sync together and work in perfect harmony.
I tried a fitbit last year and was not happy with its accuracy but thats just my opinion.

Ok thank you, sounds like it's a good gadget to keep you going. I was going to go fitbit but maybe I will look into the one you have first. Sounds like it might be a better choice plus I want to start swimming. I heard fitbit had heart rate accuracy issues but wasnt sure if it was just one type or all. Thank you for the feedback:)0

Rest Day - no exercise today (Dental Work Completed)
First dinner out in 6 weeks... Red Lobster. It wasn't a total failure but I didn't exactly stick to my plan either. I had dental work done today so I am exhausted and my jaw is sore. So what did I resort to, food as my comfort. Right back to my old ways.
Dinner:
Half Portion of Grilled Salmon with Lemon Wedges
Broccoli
Rice Pilaf
Garden Salad w/ French Dressing
Here is where I fell apart:
1 Cheddar Bay Biscuit
a bite of my sons mashed potatoes
a spoonful of my sons lobster bisque
Ho Hummm.... This is why I have been avoiding restaurants.
Being this was my first night out in a long time I guess it was ok. Consumed 1800 calories for the day, 500 calories more than my goal.
Resetting my clock tomorrow and putting today behind me. Hopefully my jaw will hurt less tomorrow.0 -

So I met with a Personal Trainer today for the first time.... Not the experience I had hoped for. I think I am going to save myself some cash and become my own personal trainer. I felt like I had more knowledge than the PT had and I know what direction I want to take myself.
