Trying to pep myself up to start up my training again in a week. Mentally I'm not feeling very ready! I really want to push it this year so that I don't come in dead least at age group national championships.
Was doing well with eating, but then made peanut butter cookies last night for our bible study tonight...and derailed a bit. *sigh Hopefully everyone will eat them all tonight so they'll be out of my house. Pretty sure I have to get rid of everything and do a sugar detox for a week before I'll gain the will power back to eat treats in moderation.
Sherry - Hopefully this all works! I'm glad you've found something that seems to be doing the trick...even if it is a bit of a struggle to get your other muscles back up in strength.
Laura - I've heard a lot about progesterone helping. But I'm supposed to start it a week or two after my cycle...which is hard to pinpoint since I don't have a uterus. I'm planning to do some more research. Did the foam rolling help your IT band?
Marla - I definitely want to look into foods to help with symptoms. It seems like I'll have bad and good months, so I just need a few things to help me through the rough ones!
No school for kiddos. We are either taking a long hike or headed to the zoo. Should be fun either way! Have a happy hump day!0 -
I stopped having a period at 37 and started bad symptoms years before that, crying jags, hot flashes, night sweats, etc. When I was 39 I finally had tests done and they said I was too young to have no period so put me on hormone therapy (before anyone knew it was bad) it forced me to have a period and helped the symptoms and I took it until I was 44 for 5 years, then articles came out saying stuff about breast cancer and hormones and since my gramma had breast cancer I stopped taking them.
By then most of the bad symptoms were over just some hot flashes left that tapped off by the time I was 50. I had it bad lasted longer than the norm.
The doctors now just mostly say lots of calcium to prevent bone loss, since I stopped early.
Its cold out and windy and overcast, not a lot of kids in the quad at university, we left early. I made some homemade soup simmered while I was gone, and warmed up.
Day off exercise, my new couch and chair coming in 1/2 hr, so excited to have real furniture again!0
