So true, after that "Golden Poo" post, you may be thinking..."elimination"? Really? Again?

But no, it's not that.

We all can follow the eating plans to lose fat...easy.
Like today, eat:
Protein Shake
No lunch
Workout
Meat (you choose), avocado, salad
(lots of tea, water, liquid during the day)

Right, that's cake, simple, done...

But let's look at our OPTIMAL functioning. Within the "It's easy to lose 15lbs, just stop plowin' the pie-hole"...are you feeling your best...in any area...Gut Health, Mental/Brain, Lungs/Chest/Sinuses, Joints, Muscles, annnnywhere!

Here's something new to do...

FOR 20 DAYS, either ELIMINATE or ADD something...

Eliminate: find your intolerances or sensitivities
No grain, soy. corn
Lose the cheese, dairy
Ditch the fruit
Quit the same-old same-old workout routine
Avoid pesticides, gmos, factory farmed meat

Addition: add something you've heard, read, thought about to get off the plateau

Pop some fish oil
Take a probiotic, or other supplement you've been considering
Drink bone broth (DJ has been doing this)
Do a forkful of kimchi every morning
Eat a veggie that's new to you
Take a new fitness class/activity (spin, swim, whatever)

This is what really takes the commitment. Anyone can do the stuff we do...eat light, workout...when all in the comfort of the comfortable comfort zone!

But try, for 20 days, to make 1 very challenging change, something that WILL be difficult.

Do something special. Do something you'd rather not for 20 days!

Consider the gauntlet thrown!

Think about it for a day or two. Then share what you will eliminate or add for 20 days below.

Id love to ADD a fermented food to every meal. Even if it's a forkful. It's something that I've always wanted to do for my gut. Any recipes or places to get good fermented foods? Sauerkraut zach does so I can start there. What about kombucha?

    The boooooch!
Get a growler from Renewal (lititz or WR farmer's market)
    http://www.drinkrenewal.com/#!find-us/c24vq

Hmmm...there's fermentation in the yeast starter for sourdough bread...may 20 days of sourdough toast w/ butter!

    kefir
    unpasteurized sauerkraut
    unpasteurized kim chi
certain yogurts - more research required

I also read today that tempeh and miso are derived from fermented soybeans, and they have some probiotic action.

Dosage?! Ohhh, good question. IDK, technically. Jack and I split a bottle of synergy each day. Or if we have Renewal, we just have a cup (like 1/2 of coffee cup)?
I'd err on less, just to be sure your body takes to the fermentation and all that stuff "live" stuff :s

I said to Matt at the grocery, "There was also an Indian dairy-based drink that was on the list of fermented foods." And we looked up to see a new item called "That Indian Drink" - it's like drinkable yogurt. Bam!

    What about kefir?

I like Kefir! (if you find some high quality, unsweetened in a glass bottle, tell us!)
    It's a tasty tart treat!
I think Dutch Meadows at Wyo Farm Mrkt might have it in glass.
The fruit/sweetened versions at grocery stores are just like desserty-mass produced yogurts.

I added a heavy hitting probiotic and sauerkraut to my diet in December. I have never been better. I struggled since being a kid with eating, eating anything ! Immediate stomach aches that nothing could relieve. Antacids. Pepto Bismal ,gas pills. Prescription Bentyl.. Couldn't even sniff the problem , I couldn't understand how anyone could go out to eat and then do anything after besides go lay down. I found a doctor who believes in healing through food and less medicine , Aparna at Divestive Disease. She has changed my outlook.
I'm so thankful to my wife for helping me explore this . (I'm guessing she will read this very soon )
Looking forward to eliminating all "hand to mouth food" that I eat without thinking between 4pm-10pm

Aha! The evening "graze" period...I find that's a huge one! Give the stomach some time off!
Hey, what's the probiotic you are taking? I was thinking of trying that for 20 days.
    But I think mine are:
To feel better: NO MIXED NUTS (I don't mind the fat/calories...but I think I have some sort of sinus, respiratory, post nasal reaction)
To just stop a habit: NO GUM (I chew it habitually while grading, or out of boredom when driving) just to eliminate a habit...the sugar alcohols don't scare me so much...see here...
