Sherry - Hopefully this cross fit gym is a good fit for you! I hope you all start feeling better!
Laura - Hopefully you start feeling better as well! Did it snow up there? I hear there were more storms passing through again.
Marla - Sounds like a wonderful day! We are having warm and sunny days in the upper 80s! A bit warm, but still gorgeous out!
My run went fine. I only did 2 miles but I focused on my cadence...trying to get to 180 per minute...but yesterday attempted 175. Kept it up for a mile and then lost it. Going to have one run a week that's only two miles but focuses solely on cadence...I'll start increasing the mileage once I can actually maintain two miles at 180.
Had staff meeting, my mom came and visited us spontaneously and fixed our bouncy house that had popped a seam. We could have gone out to eat, but I actually vetoed that idea since we had eaten take out on Sunday for the Super Bowl so I'm pretty proud of myself. Today is youngest child's Valentine party at school, so I'll be doing that in the morning and then vacuuming and dusting our living room and family room this afternoon. We have Bible study tonight. Not logging as everyone brings homemade stuff and it's to hard to try and guess what's in things. So Wednesday is my day to just enjoy the food...in reasonable portions.
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Hi all, had a good time yesterday but final road to get there and back very windy, drove so i wouldnt get car sick. Fine on way there, last night no moon out pitch dark, scary road in dark very twisty and steep, wont do that again at night we decided. I came home with bad headache from driving tensed up.
I do my registering on campus this morning later, a bit cooler and mostly cloudy. Will go on trail later.

I see MFP edited my post yesterday -- not sure what I typed that deserved a *****.
I'm now in that place where I'm either not feeling 100% yet, or I'm just lazy from taking a few days off, or maybe it's a combination of both. We did get snow Sunday and Monday, and then it got very cold again and is supposed to stay cold all week. It was -8F air temp this morning, plus a brutal windchill. That's doing nothing to improve my motivation, although at least the sun has been out the past couple of days. And my eating has been horrendous.
Val when I did the running eval at Mayo one of the big things I needed to change was my cadence. Watching back the videotape it was amazing how my stride changed with a faster cadence. Because of my height & speed my ideal cadence is 164 and I was running in the low 150s. I used a metronome app on my phone at first to build - I'd do one mile at 158, one at 159, one at 160, etc.0 -
Whoops, nearly didn't check in. Sick day with lil girl. She and I are both yucky, but she draws and writes and plays dolls, and I just lay in bed. Ugh. Anyway, feeling like Val's deflated bouncy house tonight (lol) and decided I needed an "eating day", to pack in some calories and carbs. Did that tonight and feeling a little better. Keeping lil girl home from kinder tomorrow in hopes she can go Friday, which is her library day. Still waiting some answers from that crossfit gym, maybe I'll just go over ther when I feel better. Meanwhile the other gym has a valentines special going on, for couples. If it's near DH renewal time, we might go for that.
