ATL, N. Georgia, trails and hikers?

Hi! New to the group.
I feel I am more of a "trail walker" than actual "hiker". I don't use sticks.. but I have them. And I don't wear boots... but I have them too. I hike obviously for the exercise and fun of it... but also because I can't stand other types of cardio.. especially gym equipment.
I regularly do trails around and up Kennesaw mountain...Pigeon Hill, Cheatum Hill, Burnt Hickory etc...occasionally RedTop Mtn in Cartersville.
And am looking for some hiking buddies. And would like to try some other trails in the North Georgia area.
I am currently unemployed and have lots of free time.
I have a dog that take with me sometimes. But he is getting older and the longer hikes do him in, especially in the heat.
My favorite at the moment is Pigeon hill.. 5 miles up the back side of Kennesaw Mtn.
