New to LCHF- nauseated when I eat meat

The first few days were fine but now whenever I eat chicken fish seafood ground beef or pork chops I get nauseated and I don't want to eat. My stomach has become so picky. However, I have no issues eating cheese and bacon??? I don't have headaches or fatigue so I know it's not that ketosis flu . I literally have to force myself to eat a crab cake(bread less) or Caesar salad

You don't have to eat those things... Just back off and eat what you want. Too much protein doesn't agree with my stomach. I'm best staying under 60g, often even under 50g I realized recently. except for a day here and there that I go higher. But I can't do high protein days back to back. Messes up my belly.0

Could be your electrolytes are off from cutting carbs, even if you don't have the usual symptoms. That can cause some nausea in some. Perhaps try increasing your sodium to 3000-5000mg per day and see if that helps some. Drink broth, salt your food or add salt to water.
Hope it goes away soon.0 -
Bacon.
Eat all the bacon.
(really though - I hope you feel better!)0 -
Nausea is sometimes a signal to stop eating something. In your case, I would guess it's protein. Other people here have reported nausea from chicken (which is high protein).

Whether you consume too much protein because of an extra-large meal, an excess volume of a protein-dense supplement or a protein-rich food to which you have an adverse reaction, a high protein intake can make you feel nauseated.
Cut out the Atkins shakes maybe?0 -
There is a chance you aren't well right now, you could be fighting a bug or a cold. Here you have told us about the meats that make you feel ill and you've told us you are fine with bacon & cheese---what other foods are you eating, are you drinking enough water--and as mentioned above, your broth?0

Yeah. I wouldn't use protein shakes in place of real food. If you're like me and can only tolerate a certain amount of protein, I wouldn't bother with shakes.
However, I think the fact that I don't tolerate much protein too well is probably a sign of a gut bacteria issue and one day, I'll spend some time figuring out the way to start addressing that. So maybe you might be interested in that possible fix?...of course that's assuming you're not just getting waaaaay too much protein. I have trouble at normal amounts....0 -
I don't get nauseated when I drink the shakes ?? I haven't tried broth so I'll try that . I'm fine all day except when I have to eat meat two bites and I'm over it. The only reason why I drink the shakes is because I'm afraid of under eating calories and I don't want my body to store fat while eating fat lol . No cold so I know it's not me being sick . I drink atleast 100 ounces of water a day . My symptoms are similar to a pregnant woman. Pre pregnancy she may have loved apples but now pregnant apples make her want to throw up. That's the best way I can describe it. Maybe like everyone said my tummy doesn't like too much protein. It is definitely not feeling chicken however oddly chicken wings like buffalo wings dipped in blue cheese is amazing. I don't get it0

Do you happen to be on Metformin? I found that Metformin did that to me. Took a good two months or so to get back to my usual way of eating after stopping it, too. I was okay with chicken and sometimes pork, but other red meats? Forget it.
Also, magnesium deficiency often comes with nausea. Try picking up a magnesium supplement (not oxide) and taking that for a while and see if it changes anything.0 -

What do you eat to get your fat grams? I am not a huge fan of meat but have been making myself eat it...would love to get some ideas on eating during the day without too much protein

I tend to consciously add fat rather than selecting fatty meats. I add butter and coconut oil to coffee (BPC). I also eat avocado. If you can tolerate dairy, cheeses, greek yoghurt, philadelphia cream cheese and heavy whipping cream are popular choices. I cook with coconut oil. I also add olive oil to salads. Recently I added bone broth which can naturally have fat in it, unless you skim that off. Hard to change a lifetime of dodging fat but those things help me. Hope that helps you.0 -

My diary is public. Feel free to take a look.
I start every day off the same. I get about 40g fat from butter, MCT oil and krill oil supplement. Then I just add butter to what I eat later by cooking in it or adding to veggies or I will have cheese or avocado or both... But, without my morning Keto coffee, I wouldn't have that head start on my day or my energy boost!0 -

I eat avocado cheese Greek yogurt and heavy cream too! I'll have to try coconut oil on food or in coffee . My dad recently informed me about bulletproof coffee. That stuff is the truth! And it helps curb my appetite. I'm going to try the broth when I go back to the grocery store. I'll try the adding fat rather than selecting fatty meats. I'll see if that helps. Thank you0 -
