can you fry fish without batter? How long? What fish? I just want to fry fresh fish with nothing added to it.

Yes you can. I can't think of any fish you can't fry. If you are not deep frying, you will need to make sure it's well cooked.
So sprinkle your spice and salt and just fry away.
If you do decide on batter, almond flour batter is also possible. I tired it with catfish. I didn't quite like it much but I think with cod it should be much better. Recipe - google0 -

@DaniKetoTaylor I would recommend pan frying in a nice layer of oil 1/4" up the pan. Your fish is likely to flake apart into pieces when you try to remove it from the deep fryer as it doesn't have any batter holding it together. If it has skin, start skin side down, depending on the thickness it should take 3-5 mins per side. When it gently flakes apart at the thickest point it's done.
I love spicy foods, so I'll often just use a jerk seasoning (check for hidden sugar) old bay seasoning is nice and mild but flavourful or you can do a nice creamy sauce over it, like a hollandaise.0 -
