Ok I have always been a big water drinker. So I am use to using the bathroom frequently. But, I tell you this past 2 weeks has been insane. I swear like every 20 minutes I have to pee. Its to the point where people think I am nuts. And when I go its like I havent gone all day. Is there a reason for this? Could I be drinking too much water?

Probably too much water, combined with the water-releasing nature of low carb. Just back off on the water unless you're actually thirsty and see if that helps.

I am always thristy. It sucks. I go no where without my water bottle. I am sure that is due to my medications. I will definitely try to dial it down a notch. Thank you.

Have you had your blood glucose level check lately?

That's where all of your salt goes too! The more you see, the more you need to replace!

I have the same question as @KenSmith108, have you had your blood sugar checked lately? Elevated blood sugar presents with extreme thirst, and urinating like no tomorrow! That may have been since something your body has been dealing with, and adding lc to it has increased the amount of urination exponentially. You may need to be checked, if that's not something you already monitor. That amount of urinating isn't the norm with just going low carb.

I drink a lot of water too and was waking up to pee way too many times at night. Albeit I am a diabetic and that is a symptom, but (a) my blood sugar is well controlled and (b) I've never needed to get up more than once a night pre-Keto.

The solution for me was more sodium. I was so reluctant to up it any more because I was drinking due to thirst and I thought adding more sodium would make me even more thirsty, but it promptly put a stop to my thrice nightly bathroom trips and no more waking up thirsty!

This is what I was going to say. My dad was getting up all night long but once I put him on sodium tablets and magnesium, no more constant bathroom trips.
You will pee more when ketones are higher but you'll also go more if your water to sodium ratio is too high on the water side... Your body has to dump the water to balance the sodium concentration in the blood. The more water you drink the more sodium you need. If that's what's going on, your magnesium is probably awefully low... I feel like you've mentioned other issues where magnesium needs were discussed...

Thirded, especially coupled with thirst (vs just habit).

I had blood work done less than a month ago. Everything was normal. Thirst and dry mouth is a side effect of several of my medications. I take potassium every day and other vitamins. I just started drinking water with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon on salt substitute. I only drink one 18 Oz bottle of that. I do not take a separate magnesium supplement. So now I need to do that too?

Today I am trying to restrict the amount of water I drink. As it stands at 1130 I have drank about 40 ounces of water.

I drink a lot n pee a lot, but the latter eased somewhat after a few weeks and my body getting used to a new normal. According to wiki, a human bladder holds 300- 400ml (10 to 14 oz) during day n double that at night. If you down 2 large mugs of herbal tea an hour or 2 big glasses of fluid then a trip to bathroom is inevitable. 20mins sounds extreme.

    For your 40oz today / 10 to 14oz is 3 to 4 pee breaks before 1130am.

If you are not new to this woe (which I think you are not), not drinking that much then aside from above ideas: cystisis (bladder infection) not fun but treatable- seek medication n advice.

Personally I think everyone no matter how they eat should be taking magnesium. The only people in my family I don't have taking it (YET) are my son and husband because they are giant babies about swallowing pills!
I'm buying powdered magnesium glycinate next time.

I know I sound like a broken record, but a magnesium oil spray is a great alternative!

    lol
I'm sure I sound like one too!
I did actually look into those but unless I'm just a bad Amazon shopper, it's seems quite a bit more expensive than the powder for comparable absorption.
Plus, that wouldn't work for my husband who doesn't much believe in the idea that sometimes you just do something because it's good for you even though you don't like it, because he hates the way lotions and stuff feel. Totally grosses him out! My son is kind of like that, but not as bad. He gets that sometimes you just have to do things.
I may take a look at those again though. Maybe you can recommend one?

There are also oral sprays - like a couple squirts in your mouth, too. I know my friend uses one...

I have some magnesium oil spray. It doesn't feel like lotion when applying, it seems to evaporate pretty quickly. I notice a tingling sensation when I apply it to my arms (haven't used in a while since I've been using the capsules) and was told that was a sign of need for magnesium. This was well before beginning LCHF. So, I feel I've had a chronic low magnesium for a while, just as @Sunny_Bunny_ has mentioned that most of us live each day deficient in mag. Don't recall a brand name, but was purchased from Amazon.
