question about working out

When I first started the low carb diet I lost a considerable amount of weight in the first two weeks. I have found my way back to the gym this week. I have been going for 6 days. My weight has gone up everyday. I do realize that muscle weighs more than fat. So I am accepting it right now. What I wanted to know is how long does it take for this to even out where I am no longer gaining weight. I did take measurements before I started so that I could track that as well. I have to tell you I feel awesome!!

Keep doing it for the awesome feeling, but the more you stress your muscles, the more water they'll retain. It's how the body makes a "splint" to speed the healing.

As you adapt to the exercise, there's less water retained. In fact, I can lose 5lbs in a day with a good sweat (sorry for the gross-out :)).

Your muscles store water to repair themselves so that's where the extra weight is coming. It should even out in a few weeks! It's not "real" weight! :)

Thank you ladies. I will definitely be keeping it up. I use to go to the gym a lot. Then I got injured which took me out of the gym. Now that I have found my way back I do not plan on stopping. I really love how I feel after I work out in the morning. It jump starts my day.
