Egg fast

So, after ToM my weight has been up and down the same 4 pounds for about a week now and I can't seem to get my Macro's back on point (Usually I'm at 25-40c, 135-160f and 90-110 p with ideal being 20c, 120f and 80 p). I've done some preliminary research on egg fasts and it seems like a possible way to get myself back in the swing of things and to get losing again. I'm not opposed to doing this after every ToM as a sort of "Carb Detox" but it sounds so boring... nothing but eggs, cream and cheese for 3 days.

Has anyone out there done an egg fast? what have been your experiences, positive and negative? How did you eat nothing but eggs, cheese and cream for three days? Any recipes or blogs you would recommend while doing this? Did you regain weight after doing this, if so how much? How low were/are your carbs prior to and after the egg fast? Would you recommend or do this again, why or why not?

Thanks... I just am not sure if this will be something worth doing and would love some feedback!!

I can't do egg fasts because my nosy husband would mock me endlessly for even thinking about it.
But I came across this blog by accident this morning and then you posted. So I guess it was meant for you. LOL!

Lots of things on there. And even I got ideas for once I get bored with my current egg breakfast.

Some people will say egg fasts are terrible or nonsense, but sometimes our bodies need a shake up.
With a plan like above, with variety, it might not be so bad. And it would definitely help as a cravings reset if we mess up or discover carb creep.
I think ibreatheimhungry.com has one, too.

I think it's good to put yourself to a challenge from time to time, to see what you can go, but on something like this for three days... I would die and then go out and order pizza and french fries with cheese and chocolate melted on top. I just don't deal well with being deprived!

FWIW, I have found my weight bounces all over the place (within a 5 pound ball-park) depending on my cycle; I just ignore it and continue, since over time it is trending downward.

The Ketogenic Woman one didn't come up for me, so I had to "wayback machine" it...

@baconslave When I do the ketogenicwoman.com, it did actually come up, but when I clicked on that link, I got nothing. Maybe that link is broken somehow?

Nope. My copy link is exactly the same as yours. For whatever reason it did NOT come up for me the half dozen times I clicked, right-clicked, or copy/pasted before. It's working now thought, so IDK.

I wanted to try the egg fast but having too much eggs gives me a gall bladder flare up. I did join up an egg fast group on FB. The members there seem to getting good results. These are mainly people who are in LCHF diet already and need a little something to get them off their stall. Here is the link to group on FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/eggfast/?fref=nf . There is a pinned post that gives you instructions on how to follow this diet. Join the group. You get a lot of information from reading the posts from other members.

You will not gain weight after the egg fast if you follow the transition phase back to LCHF correctly. There is even a transition group from egg fast to LCHF, but I have not joined that group.

After ToM, the last two months I've hit that same plateau. Both times I've done a two day fat fast (all I have during those two days is bulletproof coffee a couple of times a day and chicken broth if I want something savory, oh and I believe I have had one can of Coke Zero during each fast as well). This has successfully broken the stall both times.

I know that's not an egg fast, but I thought I'd share my experience in case it sounded more appealing to you.

Thanks BalmyD. I'll keep it in mind if I am at a stall since my body seem unable to tolerate just eggs.

So, look at it this way. There are like 5 million things you can make. To name a few:

    - Crustless quiche with your favorite blend of cheeses
    - Baked cheese 'crackers'
    - Egg fast custard
    - Merengue (maybe)

Lots more, too. Doesn't sound too terribly boring :) I found a slew of "Egg fast recipes" here last night: https://www.pinterest.com/nurseu2befit/keto-lchf-eggfat-fast/

Thanks!! I'm not a great cook so I get stuck eating generally, the same things over and over again lol... So when I read "egg fast" i just think of omelettes and lots of hard boiled eggs and egg salad for 3 days!!

I did a dairy-free egg fast for 3 days ... not to lose weight but just to see what the fuss was about. I rate it a solid "meh".
