Well, yesterday I finished my last few things, packed up, and headed out to San Diego. They are having a two day children's pastor conference here, so I'm here to get some new ideas and such for our children's ministries back at my church. I'm all by myself and very excited for the break! Of course, coming here all by myself, and binge watching Gilmore Girls gave me flashbacks to high school when I was socially awkward and painfully shy. It was a weird day. (I'm still very much an introvert...so I'm loving the alone time...but I'm no longer socially awkward or shy.)

I found a hiking trail near here, so I'm going to drive by it this morning just to scope out where to go. I'm bringing jogging stuff to change into as this trail is halfway between my hotel and the conference. Plan is, after the conference, to change into my running stuff and stop by this trail and get a jog/walk in. Not sure how much jogging since its been a good six months since I've done an actual trail run. But I will get out there and move my butt!

Ate out last night at our favorite restaurant, which was amazing! I got two mini sliders with some onion rings which was a perfect amount of food to eat!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sounds like your having fun and a good rest Val.

I had my heart echo yesterday, bugs me when person doing test tells you nothing but i understand why. Then i went to lunch with new group i am joining AAUW some of the members. It is national group that helps women go to college. I joined to be able to go to bookclubs.

Most are older than me but nice ladies. I am going to two clubs next month to see which one i fit better in.

I parked far away from my appt in afternoon a mile away to force some walking.

    Today doing things around here.

val, way to keep moving while traveling...and mix it up some, with a trail run.
Marla, hope you find a great book group.

Past couple days were whirlwind here. Yesterday, I had errands in different corners of the city, and afternoon had to help my son with history project. Sons school is starting to crank it up a notch to prepare them for Jr. High school--lots of book reports and stuff. Today, I inadvertently did some running. I had only an hour to go to tutor, back home for sons book (a little peeved that his teacher assigned a book report due Monday. Luckily he was already 70% through a book, but he only got the assignment today and would have to complete it today, bc he would only be with his tutor today...and it's important she help him with stuff like this because of the Greek grammar...result was that I had to run for the book so they could work on it together), anyway...back t tutor, back to home hood to get lil girl from knder. Took the bus but was literally running the moment I stepped off (dang I hate the hill we live on sometimes!). Anyway, I made it to kinder in time! Calf bothered me only some of the time, but also seemed to like getting extra blood pumping.

Eating was a little better today. Picked up some protein powder yesterday..it helps a lot.

    Happy Friday!
