protein

I was reading an article about many people being on a LCHF diet who consume too much protein. I believe this is one of my issues. Would someone like to list their favorite high fat, low protein foods that they consume? Thank you for any input!

How much protein are you eating?
Are you diabetic or insulin resistant?
What is your weight and estimated body fat percentage?0 -
Ice cream - that's really high in fat and low in protein.
Oh wait, did you mean that's also LC?0 -
I struggle with the protein element. It definitely impacts my blood sugar when I go up to or over 100 grams, even though that's right around where the Keto calculator suggests I should be. But I'm still struggling to find my protein sweet spot, my experiments have been inconclusive and I've been impatient with my testing.
Deviled eggs have been satisfying for me whilst I've worked to keep my protein lower. I've also been tossing a couple tablespoons of chorizo or pancetta into a dish instead of having a lump of meat. Last night I had a cup of broccoli and 1/2 cup mushrooms sautéed in 1.5 tbsps of olive oil with 14 grams of chorizo for dinner. Much lower protein than the burger patty with cheese I had for lunch.
A lot of people drink bulletproof coffee, but I don't really find that satisfying. I've been snacking on coconut cream to get more fat, less protein, but while that is yummy, I'd rather have a steak.
Honestly though, I know the solution for me is to start walking every day, that would make the difference I need to offset the issue of my protein being converted to glucose. But one thing at a time, I'll get to that point eventually.0 -

Without the PCOS, I wouldn't even think twice about those protein numbers. They aren't even that high above what your goal probably is. It is "potentially" an issue with PCOS and insulin resistance, but it is rare. People attribute normal stops and gos with the weight loss process with protein, when it usually isn't that big of an issue.
If anything, I would recommend you do your best to space the protein out equally, which will reduce the blood glucose spikes if that is an issue for you. I don't think averaging under 130 grams a day is outrageous, even with your potential conditions.0 -

thank you so much. you have no idea how much your advice means. i will try to keep it equally spaced. yesterday was a really good day. trying to copy that every day. ha

Completely agree with @FIT_Goat - I also tend to run higher on protein and have recently realized I don't need to concentrate on getting it in, it just naturally happens for me. Because I tend toward lean protein and don't do BPC, I do have to work on getting in enough fat. Like @PaleoInScotland I love Coconut Butter/Manna! Also eat avocados, coconut oil, heavy whipping cream, butter, and olive oil.0

I'm usually around the 150g of protein mark, and haven't noticed any negative affects at all. But I don't have any health conditions such as PCOS.0

If you try an space things out, you'll probably find you end up closer to 90-100 anyway. You'll also find you end up doing weird things like having a small steak with your eggs at breakfast (leftovers are great for this), because that tends to be the meal most people under-shoot. The reason you'll end up closer to 90-100 is because you'll end up doing more planning on a daily basis, to help spread things out. At least that is what happened with me.0
