Hahaha hey Lisa you are funny. I did the healthy foods thing as well. I still plan to try the dancing. I have a Fit Bit but it doesn't have the steps thing because it is only the zip so I am not doing the steps to much manual tracking for me. I have been exercising but I too am having some issues with food. I am eating a couple chocolate covered pretzels everyday and I am thinking of where I can go out to lunch
I didn't have a chance to log my information last night on the spreadsheet because I was at my daughters first track meet. Fun times
What I would do to be a ski bunny again lots of exercise that was for sure.
Let's keep fitting together ladies.0 -
Ok. I am going to admit I totally over ate today and didn't exercise. Tomorrow is a fresh start.0

@ruffalicious I am with you 100% I still have a ways to go with weight loss and I can't stop here. I am up and getting ready to get on the treadmill now.0
-
I have been overeating since Easter, never mind one day! Yesterday I did some walking. It was quite leisurely (not my usual brisk pace) but it was something! I plan on getting to the gym today to hit the treadmill!0
-
I am making mini goals......so I am going to see my in laws the weekend of 4/16 so I want to be lighter than and then the weekend of 4/22 I will be seeing my mom and would like to be lighter than. So I am trying to stay focused on small goals at the moment and I am making myself move. I really need to do the belly dances because I didn't get that much exercise in this week and we are so far from the goal0
-
Mini goals are a great idea....go get 'em, Melanie!

Morning Everyone. So I tried to boost our team minutes so yesterday I did 82 minutes on the treadmill and then between working in the yard and walking at the mall I got 42 more minutes per my Fit Bit. I had a total of 25,795 steps yesterday.
So far today I just completed 64 minutes on the treadmill.
Got to get rid of this weight and be more healthy.0 -
That's a lot of steps! Any exercise you do "for the team" ultimately helps YOU more than anything! You seem to be in a positive mindset place right now. Keep it going!! You got this!0
-
Well, I had grand plans of going to the gym, but a pounding headache kept me home. My husband and I were going to go for a walk instead, but winter has come back here and it's a cold wind. I'll try again tomorrow.0

Hello, Wild Flowers! I, for one, am rejuvenated to learn that there are no eliminations! Easter indulgences are far behind me...I am ready to move forward and crush it!!! If you go for a run or a walk, don't forget to take note of your distance travelled for the marathon! And start thinking of fish and cabbage dishes to incorporate into your menus this week!0
-
Hey Team mates! how's everyone doing? it's pretty quiet in here. miss all of you! new week, new beginning woop woop! i'm so excited on the kettle bell challenge and fish and cabbage.0

I forgot to do my shout-outs for last week! As a team, we didn't make it to Egypt. We only had eight participate last week and it was a large distance to travel from PA, so many minutes were needed (too many for just eight!). However, we did have Ruffa leading the pack with over 500 minutes!! You rock girl!!! Lexy, we thought you had left us, but you were just exercising in private! Both Ruffa and Lexy managed to exercise all seven days! That's great time management and dedication! In fact, of the team members that participated last week, only Shaunie and I didn't get in at least five days of exercise! I'll try harder this week if you will, Shaunie! On the flip side of that, Tori and I were the only brave ones to attempt to belly dance! There's no dancing this week, so maybe both roadblocks are doable for everyone? I haven't checked out the kettle bell video yet, but we did one in Melodie's last challenge and it was fine. I just used a 5 pound hand weight since I don't have a kettle bell. So, if you don't have a kettle bell either, don't let that stop you! Just improvise! Let's have a great week getting our whole team to Kiev!0
-
Today is weigh-in day! I entered my weight, even though I am up from two weeks ago! (I did NOT weigh-in the Tuesday after Easter!!) Now that I know where I'm at, I can work to undue the damage! My goal this week is to definitely be at or below my before Easter total!0
-
So, I did the kettle bell video. It is only 11 minutes long. I used a 5 lb hand weight instead and just held on to the end of it! If doing kettle bell exercises regularly makes you look like the fitness instructor in this video, then sign me up! She is in fantastic shape (and I mean her muscles!).0

Goodluck to everyone as well on our 5th week on amazing race challenge i havent seen the kettle bell video, ill probably do it tomorrow0 -
Hey, Mauli. Sorry that you've had a rough couple of weeks. We would never know it, though, because you are still exercising!
Congratulations, Ruffa, for meeting your original goal weight!!! Proof that exercising consistently and logging your food is the recipe for success!0 -
Hello everyone sorry I've been a little MIA I've been super busy at work, I work for myself so anything extra I can't turn down. Ok enough with the excuses ,lol
Congratulations to everyone who made it this far.0 -
Glad to hear that you are still with us, Shaunie!0

Good morning, Team! I think there has been some confusion over the Accountability Thread this week. Melodie has started a thread at the top called "Accountable to me challenge". In this thread you are to post three things that you have been held accountable to during this challenge and two more that you would like to achieve. Read some of them to get the idea. I kind of made mine "three things I have learned" and "two things I would like to achieve", although that's not exactly what she had in mind. It is worth ten points.

The silence is deafening!! Okay. So Tuesday I knew I couldn't exercise because I was getting my hair done and then a pedicure with my mother-in-law. I didn't want to get my hair all sweaty and everyone knows you can't put running shoes on and work out with freshly painted toes! Instead I did the kettle bell video before I left for the salon. Wednesday and Thursday I had full intentions of getting to the gym, but just couldn't seem to get my butt moving!! No excuses. So today I went and had a great run on the treadmill! My first time running 30 minutes straight! Last night we had salmon for dinner. Just the frozen kind you throw in the oven for 16 minutes....only 80 calories a serving! Tonight I am making a cabbage roll casserole, but I just as easily could have taken that bag of coleslaw mix and added some salad dressing and called it a day! Easy peasy! The reason the other teams are kicking our butts is partly because they have more members (some teams, not all) but mostly because they each do all, or almost all, of the challenges laid out each week. That being said, I will not get the marathon in this week. I've been doing just over three miles on the treadmill each time, so even if I could have gone all seven days this week, it still wouldn't have added up to 26 miles! I feel bad about that, too.
I hope everyone still left in this challenge is pumped about combining some of the smaller teams together for next week. Whichever team we get put with, let's not be the weakest link. Let's push them to work harder to keep up with us!!

Hey Lisa.......I have been struggling with a stomach virus for days.....yes I said days. I don't think I have enough energy today to do any exercise. I haven't eaten much either so I am expecting a weight loss Tuesday. Hopefully I will be able to get back exercising tomorrow. Today is the worst day....because I managed to work out every day but today. I will check back in tomorrow.

Melanie...so sorry to hear that you are ill! This time of year is bad for that. You just take care of yourself and don't worry about anything else! I know you are committed to this. If we don't hear from you for a couple of days while you recover, we won't worry that you've left us!0
-
Well, yesterday I spent all day with my husband's extended family, while he was working. His aunt from Alberta came home for a visit and we were celebrating his other aunt's retirement (she's 70, and finally retired from her Ontario government job!) So, I had no time to exercise and I ate two meals out. But other than some mashed potatoes with gravy and a piece of apple pie, all the other food choices I would have made. No damage done!0

Good morning all! Just got a message from Melodie. We are going to be combining our team with Team #10, Melodie's team. She has asked me to be team leader; she is busy enough with organizing the challenges. So let's welcome our new team mates. As far as I can tell, they are Dex_, LemonSocks, Melodieccurn, plainanjelik, shockvalue07, TangledThread, zerlinna87.0

Morning Team.....I am feeling MUCH better today and plan to exercise
I did the accountability challenge and wanted to share with all of you what I said and how thankful I am to be part of a team to help all of us reach our goals:
3 things I have learned:
1. BEING PART OF A TEAM to reach an end goal. Participating on a team helps me and the team and I love to help others and in this case the team and myself are benefiting.
2. Journalling food everyday even if I am over my calories intake.
3. That I can lose weight. I have struggled for a really long time and for the first time in years I have successfully lost weight 5 weeks in a row and it has been over 1 lb a week.
Things to accomplish.....
1. Increase water intake
2. Ensure that I am in another challenge when this one ends because I NEED the support and have more weight to lose.0 -
Glad to hear you are feeling better today, Melanie. You are definitely benefiting from being on this team and we, in turn, are benefiting from your enthusiasm and support! Losing weight 5 weeks in a row is fantastic, and a great motivator to keep moving forward!0
-
I'd like to offer a warm welcome to our new team members coming over from Team 10! Together we can crush this thing!! This week we are going to India! The two roadblocks are each worth 25 points. They are a relaxation yoga video and a sleep meditation video. The nutrition challenge is worth 10 points if you use a new spice this week and tell us how you used it. The accountability challenge is a before and after and is worth 10 points. Redo the pre assessment test and see how you've improved or retake your measurements or pictures and look for improvements there. Good luck everyone!0

Good Evening.....
I did the Kettle Ball Roadblock today and I really realized that I am not that coordinated but I did it. I was short on the marathon miles due to my illness yesterday. But I did get over 60 mins of exercise in today so that was pretty good and added 4 miles to the marathon.
Good luck this week everyone.0
