I'm feeling pretty frustrated right now. I recently found out that my suspicions were correct and that I have some health issues that are making it hard for me to lose weight. In fact I have gained weight recently instead of losing0
-
-
Yes, and I'm anemic, which is causing me to have extreme fatigue. I could literally sleep for days and still be exhausted.

Oh no!! I'm so sorry!! But don't let it get you down, I'm sure there's something your doctor can do to help the situation. Don't take that diagnoses as this journey being a failure. Pick pick your head up, maybe do some of your own research and keep rollin! We're all here for support.

I thought it was half your weight.
Oops! Haha yea. I'm a crazy water drinker so I thought it was total weight0 -
Went out dancing last night with my girlfriends!! What a fun night and a great way to add steps to my Fitbit and burn calories!! Happy weekend everyone!!0
-
Happy Weekend back at ya!
Unfortunately in order to get me to dance there needs to be a fair amount of rum or whiskey involved, which sort of cancels out all the calories I would burn. Although someone did point out that at least I don't add any extra calories to the whiskey - just a few ice cubes.

My first week of getting all my points. Yay. I was going to say forget it and not do the kettle workout, but I pushed through it. Very happy with myself.0
-
Me too!! Got all my points this week!! Yay! Week 6 will be good I love yoga but don't take the time to do it...this week I will get back to it!0
-
Well done everyone!! We smashed it as a team everyone came together doing their best last week...... Let's continue with this attitude this week
Fantastic progress and completing all points Yay! TaraDanielle40 and dawnsch19950 -
OMG haha sorry to everyone using their computer! That picture I posted the other day shows up small on my phone!!
Looks like we're heading to India! 3904 miles, assuming we still have everyone that's 279 minutes/person. I'll be checking in with the ones with nothing logged today, hopefully we don't lose more people!
Roadblock 1 - Yoga for 25 points
Roadblock 2 - Meditation video before you go to sleep, just needs to be done once for 25 points.
Nutritional Challenge - try a new spice. There will be a thread on the main page to tell everyone what you used and how you used it
Accountability challenge - either update your progress photos or check and see how you've improved on the pre-assessment for 10 points. I just did my progress photos so I'm going to give myself points for that one and also make sure I update my assessment!0 -
I haven't done photos, and the only thing I filled in on the preassessment was my best mile time. If I were to dig up photos, do they go on my home page or do I post them somewhere else?0
-
You don't have to share them if you don't want to @celtikgirl ! Just for you to see how your body has changed. I always recommend doing them, shows changes when the dumb scale doesnt!0
-
I don't mind sharing them, I just wanted to make sure I did whatever I needed to do to meet the challenge.0
-
Awesome @celtikgirl I'll start a thread on the groups home page, we can post here as well!!0
-
I'm going to post my overall progress photos from the beginning of my journey - not just from this challenge group because I'm waiting until the end of it to compare it to my beginning ones!
This is Summer 2013 Ashley before she realized her weight was becoming an issue - even after seeing this photo, remained in denial. No clue what I weighed.
Here's the first progress photo, from February 2014 at 169.2 pounds
And more recently at 149.4 pounds
Certainly a much happier version of myself!
Still have a ways to go, but I'm on the right track! And I've got these challenges and @Melodieccurn to thank for keeping me accountable!!2 -
Just posted mine in the thread!0

Very inspiring #SmashleyM194! I'm not that confident at present to upload any photos. I started my journey at a size 24 uk and now size 22 it took me about 4 months.
I still have a long way to go!!
# celtikgirl your doing Great also, keep up the fantastic job

Thanks change! I've dropped four pant sizes since I started, shirt size has changed too, but I don't know how far - the belly isn't going away as fast as my butt.
On the NSV side, I made 10,000 steps on my fitbitch for the first time today, and bought two pairs of non plus size, non spandex size 16 capris that I could wear to work tomorrow if it was going to be warm enough.0 -
@celtikgirl lookin good! And lmao fitbitch - I love that! Congrats on the capris!
@change04 awesome job dropping those sizes!!
Sorry I've been quiet this week. I've had an emotional and busy week, my uncle passed away and my birthday was yesterday. Hopefully next week goes better for me.0 -
No worries, Ashley, life sometimes has different plans.
Fitbitch is what my sister calls hers, and the name has stuck. I'm not sure the company would hire us as endorsers.
I was going to go to the gym last night, but realized there was plenty of yardwork to do that would give me the same outcome. I maybe didn't burn as many calories, but my time was more productive. Tonight I will do battle with a half dozen immortal rose bushes that are all in the wrong places and try to get the front of the house back to a presentable state. It's almost safe to plant the annuals.
Keep up the great work, everyone!0 -
Good morning! I'm excited to see what this week brings. @SmashleyM914 I hope it is ok that I just updated my line of the spreadsheet. We went out with friends last night and I completely forgot until this morning.0
-
Yea that's totally fine @jforshizzle as long as I have them by Monday evening we're good0

Second to last week, congratulations if you made it this far! I’m sorry, but I’m getting a bit frustrated with the constant reminders that have to go out to put in your exercise minutes. If you’ve been doing it, great job! I appreciate you!! If not and you can’t handle the dedication of these challenges, don’t do them!! Simple as that. The team leader shouldn’t feel like they’re trying to pull teeth getting people to participate. And it’s not fair to the people that do take these seriously. You really can make awesome new friends and get great results if you dedicate yourself!! Sorry, just had to take a second to vent.
Heading to Rome – 3998 miles! 307 miles each if we’ve got the remainder of the team, but we’ve got a few with little to no minutes added so they may be gone. I’ll know by tonight or tomorrow morning.
I’m really loving the first roadblock, and it’s worth 50 points!! Look back at what you weighed day 1 of this challenge, and see how much you’ve lost. Once you have that magical number, find an object that weighs close to what your weight loss has been during these past 7 weeks. Weights, a bag of flour, maybe some canned goods from the pantry, whatever you can find! Throw it in a backpack and do some everyday household chores with it on your back for 30 minutes….vacuum, do the dishes, do some laundry, put those clean clothes away, anything! And for the second part, do one of your workouts for the week with that backpack on! Maybe not take it to the gym – which you totally can if you want to – but go for a walk, or do a home video, anything! Yes you do have to do both parts of this challenge to get the 50 points and there’s no partial credit. This is a good way to show how that bit of weight you’ve lost during this challenge effects your everyday life, and how much lighter you may feel once you take that backpack off!
Roadblock 2 – Yoga video is worth 25 points, work those abs!
Nutritional challenge – find new ways to add tomatoes into your diet. If you’re not a tomato eater, you can chose another Italian vegetable or herb for 10 extra points.
For accountability you get to choose your challenge, whichever you feel you need to work on. You can take another stab at the sugar detox, you can work on your water intake, or even just make sure you’re logging. Whatever floats your boat :] 10 points.

Just updated the last few boxes for last week. Didn't make enough time in my schedule to do the yoga videos, and almost stayed awake through the whole bedtime meditation. Tried curry for the first time, but I still don't know if I like it or not, because it was part of my friend's dinner when we went out last Tuesday and along with lots of veggies, it had shrimp in it. I don't like any kind of seafood, so the shrimp kind of skewed my opinion. I'll try to find another opportunity to give it a chance sometime.
I started to say the weight challenge should be simple - until I looked at the chart (three times) and realized that I've lost 9 pounds! (maybe ten by tomorrow!) Walking three miles with that in a backpack is going to make a noticeable difference. I don't even like to carry my water bottle! I think it is a great way to recognize what a difference even a small loss makes.
Three non-scale observations over this weekend - I had to get up very early Saturday morning, so I was still half asleep when I made myself get out of bed. As I raised my knees, I looked at them, and in my addled brain I didn't recognize them as my knees. They were much too narrow!
Second, We went to the outlet mall to do some walking; window shopping and trying on of impossibly expensive clothes from stores I had never been in before. Whenever I get to goal, my bank account is going to be in serious jeopardy because the only thing that has kept me out of those stores was that nothing fit, and now some things do. I won't be allowed to go to the outlet mall unsupervised ever again.
Third is a victory of sorts for my husband, more of a hazard for me. He has lost 100 pounds since January and apparently his sense of where he is in space is "off" a little. As we were walking yesterday he kept stepping on the back of my shoe because he didn't realize how close he was.
Off to Rome! Why oh why doesn't this week come with a lasagne and garlic bread challenge? I would get every single one of those points. I really miss pasta.0 -
We're down to 11, so 364 minutes for each of us this week...we can do it!!
With my rough emotional week last week, according to the scale yesterday I packed on 5 pounds! I know it's all water weight, but that was an annoying number to see. As of today I dropped 2 of them already so I'm not too concerned. But for the lost weight challenge I'm going to go off my weight before I packed on those 5 extras. Only 5 pounds here! I'm sure I'll be surprised how big of an effect it will have.0 -
SmashleyM914, we had similar weeks! I was up 3.5 lbs this week. Why do my kids keep opening new bags of Goldfish crackers? I can't stay away from them!
I'm going to try no sugar again, that was really helpful last time and I'll follow your example and do my lowest weight for the exercise challenge. I've got a long run planned this week. I don't think I'll choose that day to carry the extra weight
Celticgirl great job on your success and your husband. That's amazing and wonderful you are having success together. Keep up the good work!0
