It's my 3 year logging anniversary on MFP. I posted this on my wall too, but here's my list of the top things I’ve learned in 3 consistent years on MFP, and this thread starter ties in with it:
(1) You are going to fall down. That’s okay. What matters is that you keep getting back up again.
(2) Even on the days when you do absolutely everything wrong, you are not a failure; you’re just human.
(3) You can’t put a price on having other people along for the ride to offer support, encouragement, and a boost when you’ve fallen down and don’t know if you can get back up again.
(4) There’s no better feeling in the world than when everything just clicks (I call it “finding my zen”). You’re eating well, you’re loving your workouts, and everything just feels easy. But don’t get too comfortable because it doesn’t last forever. Sometimes life just gets in the way - you get sick, or injured, or have a family emergency, or go on vacation, or something takes you out of your routine and suddenly it all feels like work again. When that happens refer back to #1.0 -
Sherry I'm just weird about fruit with food. I'll put berries on a salad but otherwise I don't mix fruits & other foods (especially meat). I also don't like to mix alcohol with food - even beer or wine. I have to have one first and then the other. The two flavors clash for me instead of complementing each other.0

Laura, those points of wisdom are absolutely perfect!! Happy anniversary! Funny you say that about fruit, because it took me a second to think what you meant because I hardly even think of lemon as fruit, lol! I think of it like vinegar, like some weird condiment outside of any food group. Lol! But really, like we have a salad we make that is basically just shredded cabbage and a little shredded carrot with salt pepper a tad olive oil and lots of lemon juice. Sometimes it starts to bother my teeth and I might switch the lemon with vinegar. But I don't even think of lemon as a fruit because it's not sweet. Of course it is a citrus. Lol. I'm not crazy over cooking with beer, but I have a mussels linguine that I make that just isn't the same without a splash of wine in it.
Today I am taking it so easy! I've had to massage my legs and now they feel better. They were bothering me again. Not a lot, but sore all the time, but no ripping pain. I cut the heel off of an extra insole and put it in my shoe to raise the heel a bit, and rolled my calves on a ball. Better for now. It may sound strange, but I'm trying as FEW steps as I can today. I just want to really rest my legs after massaging them.0 -
Happy anniversary Laura and you are very right, having people along for the ride makes it poosible to go on during tough times and to celebrate during better times.
Sherry enjoy your rest day, some day the pain has to go away!
Only exercise i got today was walking around costco. Major rain and wind storm.
Didn't go to gym because new organization i joined AAUW (they help women go to college and send 8th grade girls to science camp) had a high tea dressy today to give awards for top volunteers.
Ladies at my table were real nice. Fun having tea in china with tiny sandwiches and fancy small desserts. It was like playing tea party, lol.
I am hoping to kick my buns to the gym tomorrow.0
