    I need this^ today.

Part of why I "started" was thinking of my future grandchildren and how I want to be there, and fun and active for them. I'm much healthier than I was before, but I'm still missing the mark. Today was the school carnival party and I helped the kids get ready. Well, mostly my son who had a rather intricate costume. Getting there, I noticed some parents with wigs and funny glasses, and that's it..as Greeks they've been doing this a long time. Then there were the two bestie moms who lost their pregnancy weight together when our kids (my son) were in kinder (one has also about an 8yo, so she had more recent pregnancy weight back then), and they always dress so chic, etc and they had cute costumes. But there was also another lady on the parent association, who is very heavy, and had a very gorgeous and detailed costume. She was having a great time. I envied that. And then there were the parents like me...looking the same as everyday, nondescript, just thinking only of our kids. But truth be told, my daughter would be over the moon if I wore a costume! My son would love the fun-ness of it too! So if I were really thinking of my kids, maybe I'd be in costume. If I were thinking of myself maybe I would too. Honestly, it's never even occurred to me! Sometimes there's so much to juggle that I think I have to deep six the extraneous. But maybe that needs to change. A lot to think about.

Anyway, fatherinlaw picked up kids and I'm on my own and am going to take a long hot shower and finish some laundry. I'm soooo happy to report that my legs feel great today!

Marla, that ladies tea sounds cute!

Glad your legs are feeling good today!

I'm not a costume person. I was as a kid. We have people who dress up for Halloween at my office but I just can't get into it. Mostly it's more stuff to buy that I then have to store somewhere and maybe never use again.

    Marla the tea sounds fun!

My rest day today but I have a walk planned with my niece in a few hours. This morning I've been plucking away at getting my house picked up. I have too much stuff & not enough space for it, but I use most of the stuff so I can't just get rid of it either.

    .
Amen to that! Lucky for me my motherinlaw loves to put costumes together for the kids and I only got s few accessories for my son bc the ones she sent weren't quite right. Usually we send the costumes back to her. The store ones I think get used at the school where she teaches and the ones she made custom I think (and hope) she keeps bc they are super cool! I see costumes for sal this time of year on some of the local buy sell trade Facebook groups so there's always that. Idk, maybe I'll try it next year...just when my son gets to Jr high and can be easily embarrassed, lol

I love to dress up in costumes but seldom get invited to dress up stuff. Haven't had a job where I dress up in a long time. We have a plastic bin with a few outfits from scary to fairy!

My favorite holiday is coming up and I have lots of green t-shirts with Irish stuff on them, I am Irish about 2/3. My hubby has green wig and funny hat. Have to see what is in this area.

When you were talking about why you started it made me think of the tea yesterday the whole room was filled with mostly older women and some my age late 50's and almost all of them were overweight by either 20-50 lbs or more.

Watching all of us gorging on the food I thought if I keep this up I will look like all of them when I am older. Part of why I stay trying to get healthier and thinner is I don't want to look like that.

I could tell most all of them have completely given up on caring and I understand its hard!

Went for a walk this morning before rain hits, was pouring cats and dogs all night but it felt cozy reading by the fire.
