I'm sick

Has anyone had cough syrup with codeine? I'm wondering if I need to be conscious about what medicines I take on a low carb diet. I believe I am doing a keto diet where I eat 20 grams of carbs or less (net carbs i think) and I eat a ridiculous amount of fat like 103 grams hahah.

I would try and stick with medications in pill form. There are going to be carbs in just about every type of cough syrup. As a diabetic, my doc would prescribe me hydrocodone pills in the U.S. if i was that sick. Though in the UK it's available over the counter. I recommend chicken broth (or any type of broth) and hot tea (real tea or herbal) to soothe your throat. If your chest is congested, Mucinex pills do a great job of breaking up phlegm, that's what my doc always recommended to me instead of sugary syrups.

A great, old, medication for cough is Tessalon Pearles. No narcotic, but they help! Are little round gel type pills that are easy to swallow. Do require a prescription, but I think some doctors have forgotten about them, lol! The liquid medications will be full of carbs, but when it's needed you gotta do what you gotta do! Hope you feel better! Broth and egg drop soup is soothing when ill!

Look into high dose vitamin C.
I take 6000mg a day and I don't even remember the last time I was sick.
Can also help boost your immune system to fight off an illness when it's too late to prevent.
