Hi!

Just looking for hikers/backpackers to connect with here on MFP and for motivation/accountability. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm in the NW Georgia area close to Tennessee. Lot's of wilderness around here.

I used to log 20+ miles on the weekends but it fell by the wayside the last year-and-a-half (accompanied by weight gain). I am currently getting back on track to lose this weight and up my mileage.

Anyway, thanks for your time and HAPPY HIKING!

Maria

The Chattooga River is my favorite hiking, camping, floating, and fishing area (NE Georgia).

I planned to visit that river to hike in SC once (I'm pretty sure it was SC, but close to the border), but ended up changing my plans along that trip, in part due to a mild injury.

I hope you consider visiting SC again! There are dozens upon dozens of waterfalls in the area as well. :)

There's a great section for backpacking on the Chattooga that's not too strenuous. Sites along the river and small day hikes to various falls.

The Chattooga River generally has trails on both side, GA & SC. I find the SC trails are better maintained. I will be at Moss Mill Creek on April 22-25, on the SC side. This is the bottom of section II, about 1.5 miles North of Earls Ford.
