Calorie goal and water retention

These two questions are unrelated but I don't want to flood the board with topics (I'm a newbie)

Before starting low-carb I aimed for 1,500 calories a day. It's more difficult for me to stay in that range because the foods I eat have more calories, but they leave me more satisfied. I know everyone's calorie goals are different based on their weight, but how many calories are you eating and still managing to lose? Or are you not counting calories at all? Does low-carb giving you more flexibility to eat more (obviously you should still eat in a deficit).

Also I realized that I can determine my water retention by my watch. This morning my watch was tight (it even left a print on arm) and now it is sliding up and down freely as I move. I can even turn it around 360 by moving my wrist lol

I've been averaging between 1600-1700 for the past few weeks and still losing. I'm at a very slight deficit though so I'm not losing a lot. only about 1-2 lbs per month as I'm close to goal and working on recomp.

I've found the same thing with my fitbit lol
