Marla - I'm with you. Getting to the cause of poor eating choices works so much better than trying to manage the symptoms. Hopefully that works for you!
Throat is still sore. It's been a week and I'm feeling stabby about it. I'm going to make an appointment with the doc tomorrow if it still hurts and see wtf is going on here. My eating is all over the place because certain foods soothe my throat and other ones feel like millions of little knives stabbing me as they go down. So my purpose right now is not really the purpose I was hoping to focus on with food. Plus...so much ice cream right now but it makes my throat feel sooooooo much better! So does chai tea. But that keeps me up at night if I drink it past about 1 pm.

Today is my anniversary date with hubby. We're going sailing, now that we officially passed all our classes and tests. Our first time out without an instructor! We're gonna bring some board games and such as well as lunch to eat on the boat. Then we're going out to dinner when we're done. I'm excited!

My trainer often asks me why I over-eat (following up on getting to the cause of poor eating choices) and I keep telling him it's because food is delicious. Yes there are times when I stress eat or emotional eat but sometimes I just eat because I really like food. That's harder to work around.
Val I think you & I are on parallel tracks again with being sick. I've got a chest cold & sore throat that's been hanging on since late last week. And all I want when I'm sick is ice cream.
Have fun sailing! Are you nervous at all about going solo? Sounds like you've got a fun outing planned.
I debated whether to run last night because this cold is in my chest, but I did it anyway. I slept a lot over the weekend but now I'm at the point where my energy level is fine which makes it harder to skip it. Then I had my session with Jason. It wasn't a fun session but my legs are sore this morning so apparently it was an effective one.0 -
April if that was what it took I would be perfect! I have read all her books as well as tons of others in all subjects of losing weight, I finally stopped reading except small paragraphs of advice. But thanks for the help. If I could stop when full like she says....also I eat fast so doesn't hit me till later and trying to slow down.
Laura I love food too so tasting something yummy makes it harder to stop!!! Last night we had chicken marsala, costco has it so yummy and of course I had seconds!
Even after eating a full plate I notice I am still hungry even after waiting to see if its because I ate too fast, I wonder why I feel this way and if its mental and not physical???
Maybe being sick again Laura is why you feel a bit depressed, I hate being sick.
Yesterday afternoon we ended up finding hiking trail we have passed before but not stopped, very well done and beautiful trees, clovers, ferns, etc. So I exercised twice since I did long walk in morning.
Today going to yoga class and swim if I can talk myself into it, they keep pool temp low so I have to mentally prepare, part of problem is when I use to have pool I kept it much warmer.0 -
Valma, I love this threadstarter!
It's nearly 70* and I went for a 30m walk with a colleague! I felt awesome though I didn't want to come back inside.
