LCHF and Lipids/Heart Disease

Is there anyone in here doing either Keto or LCHF who is using it improve their lipid profile and prevent heart disease and if so will you share your story with me?

    When I got off of sugar and all forms of grain HDL went up, LDL went down as did triglycerides.

    Note at first (3-12 months?) numbers can become worse.

    I did start low-carb to reduce heart disease risk. My doc basically gave me the choice between statins and losing some weight, so I decided to try weight loss first.

    Most of my risk markers improved, especially HDL and triglycerides. LDL concentration went up a bit, but the LDL pattern improved -- went from small dense to large fluffy.

    My results are pretty typical according to the literature.

    But I'm not sure how valuable those risk markers are. LDL is a poor predictor compared to some others....
