When my weight loss slowed I started adding in a little iF once a week. I still think 1lb a week is OK though. If it's regular and steady you will be 52lbs lighter in a year. Not to be sneezed at IMO. But I know we all want it instantly! I've lost 48lbs in 14 months. I had lost 50lbs but lost the plot over Christmas and still getting back to where I was. I know a lot of people do lose weight faster, but not everyone is the same. Good luck on your journey!0

@moe0303 Never have considered the high fat thing. I don't purposely try to eat low fat. I know part of staying full on low carb is eating fat ,so I stay away from things labeled low fat. What is the difference?
@deksgrl I will try to lay off the PB&J bar. My manager is terrible about eating chocolate right in front of me, and when it gets to me I break off a small piece of that bar so the nagging sugar monster will go away.0 -
Your fat sources are not low carb friendly. Don't use "spreads", margarine, vegetable oils or any reduced fat items and skip the half n half and opt for heavy cream instead. The fat is a very important part of this way of eating. Your body uses it for your energy and for healthy hormone production. Fake fats cannot be used for healthy hormone production and don't behave the same way in the body.

Lard, tallow, bacon grease, duck fat, ghee.
Some people are also okay with avocado and olive oil, but I'm of the opinion that those are better served on salads or other places where you can enjoy their flavor.0 -

I think the major difference is the ketogenic state. It will lead to greater satiety making it a lot easier for you to meet your calorie goal. I think it also requires more energy to maintain meaning you'll be burning calories at a greater pace. I think that might be subject to debate though.
One thing I can attest to though, is that it feels a lot different with the HF aspect and I rarely have cravings of any sort.

MFP gives you macros for a standard american diet.

And as @deksgrl said, you should really try to hit that 1200 calories if you are running. Your body needs the fuel to do that kind of work.

Personally, I think everyone is weird so it would be weird if you weren't...
I hope you don't sweat the scale too much. There is a lot going on when you switch over. I think it's been said a number of times that we look at eating like arithmetic but our bodies are doing calculus.
Well, I heard it here first. Great line, thanks!
In one of his illuminating talks, LCHF expert Dr. Stephen Phinney cautioned that one's "true weight" at any given time falls within a range that's several lbs. wide, so if you're heavier today than you were yesterday, it could simply be that you weighed yourself at different points in the same range.0 -

Good call!
Can you help me with this riddle?
As you say, the low-fat and fat-free analogs don't seem to be good choices (notwithstanding the dogmatic advice of the Mayo Clinice, ADA, AHA, WebMD, Consumer Reports, etc., ad nauseum).
The lower-fat "alternatives" are higher in carbs for the same volume of food, even when no sugar, starch, olestra, kryptonite, or other laxative is added.
I looked at the labels for half & half v. heavy cream - surprise! Even for a puny 2 tbsp. serving, there was a 2 carb-gram difference. (Same with sour cream, etc.)
This seemed odd, but I assume the higher volume of fat in cream must be displacing some lactose in half & half. ??0 -
