So this thread is for recipes that swap high calorie ingredients for low calorie ingredients yo make an overall lower calorie dish!

I'll start with one of my healthy swaps!

Lentil Joes
Ingredients:
8 oz cooked ground beef
1 cup dry lentils
1 can of your favorite Sloppy Joe mix
Preparation:
Boil lentils until soft, drain.
Combine sloppy joe sauce, meat, and lentils
Heat thoroughly
Serve on buns

By swapping just half the beef for lentils you cut the calories per serving by a quarter. Mine came out to be 350 calories per heaping serving including the bun!!

I'd post a photo, but I'm on android

Here's another healthy swap to keep this discussion alive! (Can't believe this isn't catching on!)

Swapping noodles for spiralized zucchini in the chicken noodle soup is a great healthy swap!

Nonfat greek yogurt instead of sour cream. They have the same creamy tangy taste. I also greek yogurt instead of mayo in chicken salad.

I have been swapping ground turkey breast from ground beef or regular ground turkey.

Cauliflower is definitely a good one. I use it to replace rice, potato (when it comes to dinners that require mashed potatoes), pizza bases, etc  It's quite useful. :)

To swap for mayo in anything:

    1/4 cup greek yogurt
    1/2 tsp mustard
    1 tbs cider vinegar.

Might need adjusting to taste. But pretty dead on.

For muffins, I replace butter/margarine with applesauce or mashed bananas.
