I ate poutine.

I'm going to go all "meat plus eggs" on Monday (aiming for 30 days but I'll take it week by week) so I decided to have a carb night. The family had a poutine/movie night. I joined in. IT. WAS. A. BAD. IDEA. I have a tummy ache and the deliciousness of the meal was lacking and was far from worth it. I used to love poutine and all things French fries. Not so much anymore.

Silver lining? NSV? I guess I could look at it like that. I've only been on keto for 7 weeks, but it was long enough to change the way I taste food. Me no wanty the fries no more!

So sorry for the outcome, but it's great to be in a place, nutritionally, to be able to recognize it!

We have a lot of French Canadians here in South Florida and Poutine has been mentioned, happy to hear I don't need to run out and try it.
OP, your experience is enough for me!

I love poutine but haven't had it in years :) it is one of those things that is in my memory of enjoying but don't necessarily want anymore. I love this feeling, because certain foods don't hold me hostage anymore!

I've never had it, but I've seen it on food and travel shows. It looks like the perfect meal after a night of drinking! Wish I'd discovered it back when I still enjoyed a drink.

You are not wrong! When I was in university we'd close down the bar then hit the closest place for poutine. At least I can still enjoy the cheese curds...
