Tracking net carbs??

Hi all!! I'm new here, just started low carb (again!). Right now, I'm using the Atkins website tracker because it is more accurate as far as tracking net carbs. I prefer MFP, but I haven't figured out a way to make it track just the net carbs instead of the total carb count. Is there a way, I do have the premium membership so I can track in grams. I am so glad to be doing this again, I started this past Thursday, was in ketosis in less than 24 hours and am already down nearly 5 pounds!

    Nevermind! Answered my own question by reading the info at the top of the group! Sorry! I would delete this post, but I can't figure out how!! :)

    Also, be careful on the Atkins site. They subtract sugar alcohols in their net carbs. That's disingenuous. They should count as half a gram for each gram listed. That's especially true because they use maltitol, which is cheap but it basically acts as if you've eaten half that amount of sugar.

    Thanks, I did not know that!! I don't use anything with sugar alcohols though, or any artificial sweeteners except stevia. I have a horrible reaction to any artificial sweeteners. I figured out how to do the net carbs on here though, so I won't be using the Atkins site to track anymore. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get my ticker and weight loss to update on my profile page, it still says 0lbs lost even though I've lost nearly 5lbs. Been working on it for nearly an hour, about to shut it down and try again later! LOL

    For a long time I fretted that MFP wasn't counting the first 5 pounds I lost. It also bothered me that it couldn't track net carbs vs total carbs. I finally realized that what is important is: can I climb a flight of stairs w/o pain and is my diabetes under control? The most meaningful metric seems to be: how do my pants fit? The answer is down 10 inches.

    If you go to the weight check-in page on the desktop site, there is a link that says "Edit Previous Entries" - you can change your start weight on there and then your 5lbs loss should show up. Congratulations!
