I'm just starting my process. I have 1 month of the required 6 with my primary doctor. Should I wait till it's closer to the 6 months or do it now?

I'd get it done and out of the way asap so you can focus on other things...get the ball rolling so when you're done with the six months everything is done!

Go ahead now! You'll be surprised how much you'll learn and how that will motivate you and help you during the weigh-in/waiting game. If your hospital has a support group, I'd go ahead and attend that as well as it was a great motivation to talk to people who had already had the surgery and to get answers to questions from people who had already been there. I still attend our support group meetings to pay it forward and to get continuing education on life after VSG surgery.

I didn't think about it that way. . Cool. Thanks. Also, should I take my husband with me? Since he'll be a big part of my support after surgery

ABSOLUTELY! My center encourages bringing a support person. There are many that attend all the seminars and classes as well as the support group meetings. There's so much information having a second set of eyes and ears is never a bad thing!
