Last September I was considered type 2 diabetic because I had a hemoglobin A1C of 9(normal is in the mid 5's or less). I began low carbing, I felt fantastic and lost 15 pounds pretty quickly. After the holiday season and a severe infection I put a few pounds back on but in February I still tested with a normal A1C for the first time in years! It was exciting, but for some reason it sent me into a tailspin. Sadly, I've gained back all the weight I lost and have been eating(and drinking!) everything in sight. Today I woke up determined to start fresh. I feel good about it, but I'm a little nervous which is why I'm posting this. I hope some people can relate to backsliding, but also not giving up. Tell me these are just bumps in the road or that you've been here and made it through! Please! Thanks for reading :)

Preaching to the choir. I'm the mayor of backslideville! Been doing it my whole life - sadly. However, I am finding LCHF to be very effective and have lost 60lbs since mid-October without any backsliding. I hope that I've made a lifelong change and I wish the same for you.

You know they are, but you also know there's no going back to high carb. It's quicksand. Make the change to low-carb in a way that you can easily sustain forever.

That's different for all of us, but for me it meant finding low-carb foods that I love to eat. The high-carb stuff I used to eat no longer tempts me.
