And looking for other diabetic friends. Feburary 2015, I was on 22 units of insulin and my a1c was 10.0, now I am off my insulin and my latest a1c was 6.2
I'm hoping to find some other people who are diabetic to be friends with. I currently eat 125grams carbs 50 grams fat and 120 grams protein.
I exercise between 5-6 days a week. 2-3 of those days are 60 mins weight training and 5-10 mins cardio. On the other days between 60-90 mins of cardio.
I am lightly active otherwise. I do all the cooking and most of the cleaning @home. I also have 2 children with autism that keep me pretty busy as well. I do not work outside of the home due to all the doctor and therapy appointments I have for myself and my kids.
I also have been diagnosed with high blood pressure but due to exercise and weight loss I have been taken off my blood pressure meds and been told I have excellent blood pressure.
I have lost a total of 81 lbs. But 34 lbs since last June before joining mfp. And 21 since joining mfp.

Welcome to the group.
Congrats on your losses and health improvements. Great job!
I was prediabetic and went very low carb to treat it. There are actually quite a few of us around here. LCHF can work wonders for BG levels.0
