Gall bladder surgery

I had my gall bladder removed last Tuesday and I'm struggling. I'm eating WAY too many carbs. I don't know what's going on. I've fallen and I can't get up!!!! I think part of it is just figuring out what I can and cannot eat without being miserable. I've become a graham cracker addict. I get indigestion very easily now. Does anyone have trouble after having gall bladder surgery?

I had mine out a very long time ago. But I know that Jimmy Moores wife, Christine had hers out since he went low carb and he mentions it regularly that it took her about a year of slowly increasing fat to get back into Keto.
There may be more detailed info on his blog...???

Mine was out before keto so I can't offer much help. I will say right now I don't seem to have issues with a high fat diet. I have read that it takes a few months to a year for your body to adapt... At first you can dump too much bile at once which causes urgent trips to the restroom. Luckily that usually lessens with time.

I'm similar to @anglyn1. Also, I find that extended fasting causes bile/bathroom issues, but otherwise, I was gallbladder-less 10 or so years before I went low carb.

I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one around here with a gall bladder. Ive read that rapid weight loss can cause issues. I've lost 50+ lbs 3 times over my life and fortunately haven't had any problems yet. Is this a problem that creeps up on you or one of those things that you all of a sudden rush to the emergency room for?

@PaleoInScotland mine crept up. I didn't actually have stones mine just quit working. I had constant pain for years and they would do ultrasounds and tell me no stones and send me on my way. Finally a new doctor did a HIDA scan and discovered it wasn't functioning. By the time it came out it was terribly swollen and adhered to my liver with scar tissue!

I had mine out when I was 16 years old!!!!! I had symptoms for years but it took forever to get diagnosed because they just didn't suspect that. I had over 100 stones when it was removed!
I grew up on pizza and Mexican food. Lol

Wow well I will just consider myself lucky. Thank you for sharing @anglyn1 and @Sunny_Bunny_ I'm kind of relieved to hear it's not like a burst appendix type of situation, though it doesn't exactly sound pleasant.

@fatchimom I wish you all the best with your recovery. I know how frustrating it can be to have a medical set back impede your weight loss journey.

Great feedback!!! I've been researching on the internet a lot and am going to try Ox Bile and digestive enzymes in addition to the probiotic I take. Wait and see. I've been eating WAY more carbs since surgery but, other than almost immediately running to the bathroom after greasy foods, it's just been the indigestion. I'll keep you posted!
